make a dvd

i wanted to make a dvd of just a bunch of small movie clips and pics i have and i was just wondering how i do that.

1. what software do i need (where can i download it)
2. Is it hard to make one (scale 1-10)

I'm no expert, but this is what I would do...

using virtualdub
I'd append the movies together
convert into an .avi

.avi into dvd.

I'm sure there is a better way to do it, but this should work.

What program do you use to convert .avi to dvd?
I tried that before and didnt like the quality, so i got a dvd player that plays divx.

I use dvdsanta - its sucks, but it gets the job done. I've done dvds that loooked like utter shit and others that seem dvd quality - guess it all depends on the original avi quality.

'Nero' is quite good and easy to learn, Adobe Encore' rocks but you would have to buy them or find them on a P2P.

Windows Movie Maker.
It is free, easy to use, and plays on most DVD players.
