My cousin is visiting me from burbank california. We decided to go to chicago and spend the day there instead of staying in this little town I'm in now. I've been to chicago a couple of time...mostly just passing through, but today we spent all day there...checking out the sites and the people. AWESOME! I'm now considering moving there. I know there are a few people from Chicago...so can you tell me something? How is the chicago life?

i don't live there but pretty close
it's expensive, fast-paced, crowded ... a little too busy for my personal likings but nonetheless a cool place to visit

I live in Naperville, about 40 minutes west of Chicago. It gets a lot of bad rap for being a total yuppie paradise... which it is. But I enjoy being here. Although, I hate the weather and it is quite expensive.
I've been to Los Angeles and Manhattan, in my opinion Chicago is way better than both of these cities. Much much cleaner too (except for Lake Michigan.)

It's big, dirty, stinky, cold, overcast all the damn time, and good luck finding a friggin' parking spot.
But it does have some cool museums.

I love living here in Chicago, I live on the South-side 15 minutes from the city. I get the pleasure of waking up every morning and seeing the skyline,U.S Cellular field. Chicago is great after a couple of years you'll get used to all the people being around and the traffic. Living in Chicago is an experience in itself. I can't put into words how Chicago is. I love my city

I moved 2 years ago from Chicago. Not a bad place, like they said.. fast paced.. expensive, annoying at times. But FUN! I moved from the Barrington area, and before that.. the Berwyn/Cicero area. Which is much closer to Chicago. If you like BEER, FOOD and HUGE PARADES.. check out the St. Patty's Day Parade. Probably none larger and more fun than this festival.
They dye the river green. So you have no doubt that they're fully serious about this holiday.

AND.. the biggest food festival you could think of. Get blazed and go.. they've got your fuckin' munchies!
Ahhh.. and the sports. Da Bears, the Sox, the Cubs and the Hawks.. you can't go wrong with this assortment of teams.
Something bad? Probably the herb / general drug prices. Pot = 50-60$ on the norm. That SUCKED. Want an Oz? .. better have 400$

I love Chicago, it's easily one of my top three American cities. Greatest pizza on the face of the earth, beautiful women, wonderful culture, tolerant people, and a wonderful combination of old and new tradition. My favorite memory of Chicago was going in the winter time and there was like two feet of snow on the ground and watching the old ladies go from neigborhood shop to neighborhood shop to get their groceries.
Also, it was Al Capone's home town
Great town.

I live in Glenview. Whoever said that Naperville was filled with yuppies has never lived on the North Shore.
Anyway, about drug prices. THe most commonly found prices are indeed higher around here. An 1/8th of marijuana over here is $60 unless you give sex (and much of it) to the dealer. The quality is inconsistent. If you get a good dealer, it can be real good. If you get an asshole, you get schwag at full price.
