My Cheese Popcorn

I got some from wal mart awhile back, and i was like "It dont taste cheezy at all!!" but it was kinda orange, a little, but i was like "well, i guess"

so i didnt eat any for awhile, and i ate the last bag yesterday, and i grabbed the box, and some packets fell out, so i was thinking it was something that had been placed on the box and fell in (dirty kitchen, shit piles up fast)  or my gf put it in there, so i tossed it aside. popcorn sucked, and today i was cleaning the kitchen, and was like "what the hell is this stuff" when i came to the packet, and i read it, and its the cheese i was suppost to sprinkle on the popcorn :lol:

so let this be  a lesson to ya, carmel corn is pre-carmeled, cheeze popcorn you have to work at :lol:

Further proof that Wal-Mart is evil. My popcorn comes pre cheesified because it's not 3rd world Wal-Mart food :wink:

lol popcorn was on sale last time we went shoppen.  i got a box of kettle and white cheese.  i wonder if i gotta sprinkle sprinkle.

this post made me laugh for some reason :smile:.

pre packaged kettle corn sucks

here's my stovetop method - hella bomb

get your popcorn making pot, and pour popcorn in it, as much as it usualy takes (usualy a layer at the bottom)... pour those kernels into a measuring cup. if it's like, 1 cup of kernels, then measure out 1/2 cup of sugar. (popcorn:sugar = 2:1, THIS IS KEY) dont use this ratio for powdered sugar, i havent got that ratio down, but it's much higher, use granulated

pour the oil into the pan, and toss like 3 kernels in. Crank the stove to HIGH (IMportant).

once they pop, dig them out with a wooden spoon (or metal one, your choice, must have long handle though). Toss the kernels in there, and keep it uncovered.

once it starts to pop, like 5-6 have popped, then dump in the sugar, and stir it briskly (this will stop the kernels from popping most times).. stir a bit more so the sugar is thouraly mixed in, but it will still look chunky, but that's ok.

put the lid on (you DO NOT want to get hit with a sugar coated piece of popcorn, it will stick to you and burn like hell) and shake/rock back and forth. Turn the stove down to 9 (electric). Let it pop, and once it's half way, you can take the lid off (so you know when it's reaching the top)

as it's getting close to bieng done, IMMEADEATLY pull it off, and IMEADEATLY dump the Blob of popcorn into a large container, wider than the pot, and deep enough to hold all the ccorn. Let the pot rest upsidedown on the popcorn (they continue popping, and sticking to you).. so then remove the pot after they stop. and LET COOL (DONT DIG YOUR HAND INTO THE SCHORCHING STICKY POPCORN, TRUST ME ON THIS ONE) sugar takes about a mintue to cool. You will have a brick of popcorn now, so break it up with your hand a bit and salt to taste, the more salt, the better. Enjoy

sometimes you get lumps of sugar on some, this is normal, but not desierable.
sometimes if you use too much popcorn, or pull it off too soon, the kernels will stick to a lot of the popcorn, way annoying.
soak the pan in water for 10 minutes before cleaning
ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO DUMP IT OUT OF THE PAN IMEADEATLY AFTER IT"S FINISHED. This will prevent the sugar from burning.

powdered sugar is like a weak regular sugar, i'm gonna go with a 4:3 ratio and see how it is, but it's the same general taste.

I think i would end up with burnt popcorn kernals if i tried to do somthing like that. :smile:

I like the kettle korn in a bag so i bet that is great :smile:.

kettle corn in the bagg is WAYYYY sucky in comparison. and it's way cheap.

the cheese pack is the same as in mac-n-cheese. I just popped some stove style, and used the pack... it's hella good too.
