NE Gathering roadtrip! If you live in Arkansas/Kentucky/Tennesee/Ohio tell me what sights to see!

Okay, Dreamer and hubby and Kristi are all trying to plan our roadrip for the gathering!  If you live in any one of those states, what good stuff should we check out in those areas?  We'll be driving up in June...know of any festivals or other fun things to do in those states?  We want to make this a roadtrip to remember!  :smile:

Sorry abot the previous (deleted) post. My memory must be waaaay off. But anyway, there are some beautiful caverns in southern ohio, but I can't remember the name for some reason. All I can think of is "carlsbad caverns" which apparently is not right... hmm...

There is also Blanchard Springs Caverns in north Arkansas. Any place in the Ozark Mountains is good.

Ok, I think the caves I was refering to are the Mammoth Caves in Kentucy but I'm finding a lot of caves in both states.  So, just pick one that's on the way, or something.  :smile:

Red River Gorge is sweet, it is in ky i think.
Newport aquarium in ky is cool too.
I live in the ohio area and if you find anything cool here let me know cause it seems dull to me.

Chattanooga is nice, the Aquarium is the most interesting way to spend a day though. Go east and hit the valley bordering Ocoee Mtns, those are quite a site and great for hiking. There are some amazing climbing spots that you just have to know the area to find

If you come through that area of TN I will be glad to send you tons of pics of the mountains and sites you could see.

If you're looking for nightlife instead of peaceful camping/hiking, hit up Memphis and western TN.

Thanks for the suggestions people.  I can't tell you how excited I am about this.  This is the first real traveling "journey" I'm going on.  I've driven through those states before with family, but it was always in a rush and I never got a chance to savor and take in the sights and sounds of all those different places. 

Thanks to everyone who sent me a PM too...I'll get back to you after my hangover goes away.  :smile:
