NE Gathering Alumni, gimme some tips...
    #4239344 -

I'm not a real outdoorsy kinda guy, a side effect of being raised in NYC my whole life and not getting out into nature much. I haven't camped since I was, oh, say like 13 or 14. It's been a looooooooooong time. I was thinking about the NE gathering and I was like...shit, what do I bring? Any of you have packing lists or anything that you made for the last gathering? I don't mean random toys and stuff either, I mean the nitty guh gritty.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

My essentials:
-water, and lots of it
-food
-a tent
-a flashlight
-a portable CD player w/extra batteries

Everything else is quite negotiable

Generally I have too much fun to worry about anything I may have forgotten.

But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

Yeah, I'm worried about what to do as far as food is concerned. Do people bring grills and sell food at shroomery gatherings usually? Cause I'd be willing to fork over cash for a good ol' grilled cheese, you can be sure. Definitely gotta do some food planning..

Yeah, I think I may have to bring a CD player just because I don't know how I'd charge my iPod out there in the wilderness...I'll be so sad without it, I'm addicted to it.

If I try and cook grilled cheese, I guarantee you it'll be charred. I meant to say I wanted to buy Other People's Grilled Cheese.
