Does anyone own a Korg EMX-1?
    #4155682 -

I just found this amazing piece of machinery online, and I want one really badly. It looks like it's absolutely fun as hell and uncomplicated. Musical creativity to the bone.

Anyone have one? Reccomendations?

This is probably a long shot but you never know..

No, but I almost bought one! A friend of mine has one on layby and is really looking forward to getting it. They're actually really good. The oscillator pad is really funky and easy to use, as is the whole unit. Great patches and pretty easy interface. I think this one's a sampler as well, so you can put your own sounds in to it. I know most of the electribes are, and am pretty sure this is.

Good unit really. Really good.

A friend of mine has one, the sounds are decent, but the filters are weak. the tube looks cool, but it's a gimmick.
It doesn't have a sampler, expansion PCM slots, or any kind of drive.

You would be better off getting a RM1X or MC-505 and a small tube compressor or distortion box.
The Yamaha RM1X has a bigger display, more effect options, a floppy drive and a much better sequencer and it's only $250 on ebay.

jmo.
