>Does anyone know if a reverse osmosis filters out chlorine >and any other weird...deposits that would cause problems?
For sure. But you?re telling you have a reverse osmosis apparatus at home??

Chlorine(more exactly sodium hypochlorite) decomposes to sodium cloride and oxigene when heated so it should not be a problem when used for preparing cakes.

Not that this matters at all but, today most municipal water treatment facilities use chlorine dioxide instead of sodium hypochlorite (bleach). Degrades to inert compounds the same though, don't even know why i'm posting, forgive me.....

Grenade,
Tap water
Distilled water
Spring water

All these work. I used to worry too.For the casing, I wouldn't use tap water if I had a choice. But a buck for spring or distilled wouldn't hurt.

I have a reverse osmosis system at my house, and it cost around $ 500 to aquire/ install. If you paid nowhere near this amount I doubt it is a true RO system. Mine says that it removes 99.8% of all impurities.
