Ignorance is bliss to those uneducated
    #4130186 -

So my roommate was just talking to me and my friend about how superior he was because he never has and never will take any drug (including alcohol/tobacco)

Him:  No, i will NEVER take any drug ever in my life

Me:  What??? what about caffiene

Him:  NO Caffiene is NOT a drug

Me:  Wtf are you talking about? It totally is a drug

Him:  NO ITS NOT!! Caffiene is NOT a drug.  It can't be abused!

Me: WHAT are you talking about, caffiene can totally be abused, tons of people abuse it

Him:  No im not talking about caffiene pills

Me:  Lots of people abuse caffiene by drinking it!  It happens all the time!

Him: ....well I dont. ......  I have never drank something with    caffiene in it  just for the caffiene

Me:  WHATEVER....what about all those starbucks coffee's you get all the time?

Him:  well i've never drank those for the caffiene

Me:  You're a liar. So you have NEVER drank a caffenated product for some energy, or to study?

  Him: ...........uh...no

Me:  or for the pick me up in the morning, or to wake up?

(his argument really falls apart now)

Him:  Besides its not just caffiene...Pepsi has caffiene that is natural...cause caffiene occurs naturally so its not a drug

Me:  Dude cocaine comes from natural plants too, and so does opium....

  Him:  NO cocaine doesnt

Me:  Yea! its from the Coca plant.  And anyway, so you drink pepsi for the caffiene when you want energy

Him:  ....well.............................THE SUGAR!  When i want energy, i dont drink pepsi for the caffiene.  I drink it for the sugar, and that gives me energy.

Me:  Stfu, that was terrible.  Just stop talking, you fail, you are done

  Him: ..................  :frown:

He shuts the fuck up
The End

another dumbass put in their place

I really dislike when sober people put themselves on pedestals...a lot.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.

By his logic, I would've argued that salvia and marjiuana also weren't drugs

I can take breaks easily, from psychedelics, from caffeine, from pot. Whatever. Not a big deal.

It's just that since the default in society is that "drugs are bad, mmkay," that leads to sober people often thinking they've achieved something through sobriety which can get really annoying. Most sober people, especially ones who used to do drugs, are always like "I think everyone needs to experience complete sobriety." But I would never say I think everyone needs to experience acid. Because I don't think either is true.

I make the argument that no one should live with an addiction. When you smoke several grams a day, when you are intolerable to be around without your fix, when you can't sleep without some smoke, when all you can think about is your next joint.. theres a problem.

This applies to all drugs, and even psychologically addictive things.. I keep myself away from the computer forcefully, simply because I could burn an entire evening in front of it, and still want more.

Vices cramp your style, and hinder your life. :P

You should've brought up alcohol as well. I'm curious as to what his reaction to that would be...

Self-exploration through intoxication within moderation.

That's my motto.
