What the bleep do we know ;-( bleh...
    #4118045 - 05/01/05 08:16 AM (18 years, 11 months ago)

What the Bleep! do we Know.

I heard all this buzz about it and watched it finally last night. What a waste. All these unsubstantiated (at least in the film) claims. They were making all these huge claims and didn't say anything about their sources. It started out okay with trippy things hapenning and different philosophical snippets, but then it kept going and going and going. We were waiting for the intro to end, but it turns out the intro is the whole movie! ;-)

Anyways, it wasn't anything exciting or really new to anyone that has taken even one psych or philosophy class.

Why this movie got such a buzz, when 90% of the people I talk to haven't even heard of "Waking Life", I don't know.

Waking Life was sooo great...

It wasn't all completely unsubstantiated...

The most interesting part for me was the water experiements by the Japanese Scientist. Here

yeah i really didnt like the movie, not because of unsubstantiated claims, but because it was poorly made and boring.
the whole "plot" was not interesting, the acting sucked and the actors were not likable, and the (flubberesque) cgi was one step above retarded.

here is something much better and much more interesting and free too

I've heard about that, but why isn't that being reported anywhere or in any scientific journals?

That depends...How many 'scientific journals' do you read on a regular basis?

agreed. I guess I missed the connection between quantum physics and people getting boners for each other at a drunken wedding.

It was supposed to show that humans are addicted to their emotions. But yeah, I dunno how that's connected to quantum physics either.

Personally I thought the movie was pretty good at parts.

Rono it was what i was thinking about i have read his books on prayer.

But then i talked to a scientist one cuz he isolates protiens and crystalises them and takes photos of his experiments.  He said you photograf many crystals of each protein and then use the one that suites your need and what  YOU WANTED to prove.

it's called the Ramtha School of Enlightenment
If you got the money you can pay $1,500 for a 3 day retreat where you get 'enlightened' by this 50 year old woman in California who claims she is channeling a 5,000 year old warrior from Atlantis named Ramtha.  She's the one in the movie who gets the most airtime.
