I don't think anyone has ever channeled more soul though a strat than gillmore, but I still gotta give it up to Jerry. Decideing factor? When Watters left floyd thier music whent to hell and gilmore's writting lost alot of the spark he had when they were working together. When jerry played solo or with Grisman he did'nt lose a thing. While Gilmore aparently needed that extra push he got while working with Watters, Jerry was in a class that was all his own, and that is why I belive Jerry owns this battle. Not to mention how long Garcia continued to keep it up.

Yeah, i'm obviousley the minority with my stance, but I've always liked being the outsider anyway, I keep my resolve. Jerry is the supreme musician in this instance, I'm content being on the loseing side of this argument.

i liked alot of pink floyd but once i was listening to the wall in my car and someone said ' wtf is this shit is it pink floyd featuring meat loaf? '
since that day it clicked that it kinda sounds like some cheesy soft rock and i can never look back
also.. dark side of the mood is amazing and a great album but it just all sounds the same mang
its like a 40min song

I've never gotten into GD or Jerry tbh (beyond a few live songs here and there) but can appreciate what they've contributed. I had to go with Dave because his playing is more emotional for me, as I'm sure the opposite is true for many here. whatever floats your boat, really. apples and oranges etc.

David Gilmour was the musician to replace Syd Barrett in the band Pink Floyd. He became the lead guitar player, and took over more or less as leader of the band after Roger Watters split.

I love both Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead, but....

I vote for Hendrix.
