What keeps you coming to gatherings?

I am writing my next show on gatherings and the reason most of us continue to be drawn to them. I have heard many times of the magic and indescribable atmosphere they create.

What are the emotions, words etc that describe the unity we seem to create at gatherings?

Its people like you that keep me coming back! :smile: The way I see it...I've never felt more at home with a group of 'strangers' in my life. Its not like meeting new people, its more like meeting with old friends. :heart:

It's being with other people... other people's energy and similar interests bring other's together and make the environment more comforting.

When I first started going to gatherings, I was going because I felt like I connected to the people there in a completely different way then I connected to people in my everyday life.  It was different, special and most of all...comfortable.

These days I still go for the same reasons, but instead of connecting to the coolest bunch of 'non-strangers' I've ever met, it's a group of my greatest friends.  I don't think any other group of people has such unique memories together!

I'll never forget a single gathering.  Sometimes (mostly always....) things don't go according to plan, but chaos is part of the adventure.  The N.E. Gathering is going to be the highlight of my summer, besides my fiancee coming home from afghanistan...  :heart:

The first time we go to gatherings it's for the adventure, that's why I went. I keep going because now it's about the people. Just about everyone I meet at the gatherings seems "familiar" to me. It's hard to describe, but no one is a stranger at the gathering. It's like family we've always known. Gatherings are about love, respect, acceptance and adventure. They're so much fucking fun!

i know when i go to a gatheirng that everyone there is just who they are, wether its a bit spiky at first or as warm and friendly as could possibly be real...  i know that i oculd just sit in a chair for three days and stare at the fire and no one would even think me anti-social at all....

i know when i stand up to see if someone wants to go on a mission or a hike, at LEAST one person is gonna shoot up with the same excitement i have and that person could be an old friend or someone ive never talked to!!

the energy is one of acceptance and anticipation...

people usually know what there going to do at a gathering, but really...

once you get there, you never really know whats gonna happen or what youre going to do, or what friends youll make, or what lessons youll learn.

amazing every time, the gatherings.

i've not been to a shroomery gathering, yet, but i'm a rainbow addict, and I must say, there is an undeniable unspoken bond that I crave and find nowhere else. The connection with so many other people tripping on life is unreplaceable, and I can only imagine That there is a similar vibe through out the shroomery gatherings. There is something to be found that goes beyond friendship, comradery, drugs, or anything else. It's alot like buddah meeting buddah for tea. If you catch that. It's a riot on a cosmic level.

I'm a drifter, i'll make one eventually. I can't imagine how this would not happen. Traveling is my life, They just have not hit on the right time frame for me yet.

clear eyes explained it pretty well : its like being 5 years old with no parents around and doing whatever you want

its the people, some now have been my friends for 5+ years now. a mass vibe of goodness.

i could write for days non stop trying to answer that question, and still not come up with an answer that would do any justice to how i really feel about them. answering that question for me is alot like writing a trip report. no matter how well i write it, no matter how much effort or time i put into it, it will never be good enough. these gatherings are beyond words. language is just too primitive of a medium for such tasks. ive said it before, and ill say it again (many many times im sure)....these gatherings have changed my life. or rather....these gatherings, and the people i have met, the family that adopted me....have helped ME change my life. i love you guys :heart:

Its hard to put into words the feelings at a gathering. There is a lot of amazing energy all around. There are no expectations from anyone or about anyone. I can let my hair down and be the person I truly am without any fear. No one stands in judgement of thier neighbors. All are willing to extend a friendly, helping hand. And I've yet to meet someone at a gathering that I did not like.

Its an experience like none other....and I'm addiced to it!

EXACTLY!!!  i think hehe  you guys have said the same things I was thinking.  Like I said in my show this week, "It is the most unnerving overwhelming comfort I have ever experienced".
