 Damn piercings will not heal!!

I got two holes in the cartilidge at the top of my right ear. This was October of 2003!
They told me NOT to use alcohol or peroxide on it because that will take the healing back to day one, but I had no choice it got pretty infected at times and I had to.
I haven't used any peroxide or alcohol for about 10 months now. I got the 2 orginal small loops replaced with some large hoops, and I think this is why it's not healing because when I sleep on that ear the hoops get all twisted around and rip my the holes back open.
Anyone have any suggestions, should I maybe try putting some studs in there for awhile or try some other kind of solution on my ear?

yea dood, i got a lipring.. the first time i got my lip pierced.. it healed in a month about.. the second time i got it pierced through the scar tissue, it wont heal. I mean, it dont hurt, but i can tell its not healed

Use triple antibiotic ointment like neosporin. It kills bacteria, promotes healing AND reduces scarring

antibiotic ointment isn't good for piercings, it doesn't allow the piercing to breathe and heal correctly.

Try collidal silver topically. It will allow the ear to heal and drys quickly.

I got an industrial like a month ago and it's healing very nicely.
was your piercing done with a needle or a gun?
Because I had my other ear done with a gun at like claires and it took FOREVER to heal and hurt like hell all the time. This new one was done with a needle and never even hurt.
I say if it hasn't healed then take out the jewelry and let them heal over and have the other ear done right.
Also, at walmart there is this 'sensitive ears' stuff in the jewelry dept where people get there ears pierced. it's what they give you when they pierce your ears there.
I say clean it with that.

Really? Maybe if you put on a shit load.
I have gauged loops in each ear and I lube up each one and then spin them. Works great! Another good thing to use is sea salt water. Never had an infection or slow heal times. I say go with what works

cartilidge piercings are the worst. there is little blood flow to the cartilidge to heal the wound or fight off infection. healing often takes forever and infections are common. once infection sets in, it will spread and spread - your ear will be permanently disfigured.
I would just take it out to be safe.
there are better piercings out there.
I know this first hand - I had an industrial piericing become infected. Within a day, my ear swell up and I had intense pain all throughout my head. I went to the emergency room and the doctors had to give me Cipro (antibiotic that they give people who become infected by Anthrax) to kill the infection ASAP. They had to cut a few holes into my ear and stick sterile cotton stuffing into the holes so that the infection could drain (the cotton held the holes open). They used a vaccum-like machine to try to suck up as much as possible. Imagine the pain.
My ear is disfigured - it is not bad, but you can definitely tell something is wrong upon inspection. I have also developed a minor form of cauliflower ear from all the trauma.
cartilidge piercings are risky - I wish I never had done it.
so, my advice from someone who has been there, just take 'em out.
get some flesh pierced.

holy shit.
That's awful
I haven't had that much trouble with this new one. I still say use that 'sensitive ears' stuff from wal-mart... it is 'benzalkonium chloride'. it works good and doesn't sting like alcohol or 'bubble' like peroxide.
give that a whirl. it's only like $1.50
