Holy shit, i thought i was the only person that used Fruity Loops now. Get it from Torrent Reactor, but if you want to make GOOD sounding music, get Propellerheads Reason. Reason is 200 times better than fruity loops.

well, it's against the forum rules to ask for illegal things. but it will be easy as hell to find it if you just search around a bit. but as Axiom said, fruity loops is just a fun program - you can't really make good music with it. use Reason, or CuBase, or ProTools.

But only Reason has the full assortment of digitized synths right? Aren't CuBase and ProTools just tracking programs? And MIDI sequencers?

Sorry about my last reply about gettin Reason, I'm new and not totally aware of the forum rules. Is CuBase or ProTools better than Reason? I haven't heard of those before. I tried another program called Cakewalk once when i was rollin, but i couldn't really figure it out.

that's correct - only reason has built in synths. although cu-base can support a lot of plugins, including digitized synths. pro-tools i'm not sure of, i only know some mac junkies who swear by it. out of the three, i've only used cubase a lot. i've recently gotten a copy of Reason for mac, but have yet to install it and check it out. i've heard of cakewalk as well, but haven't tried it myself.
and don't worry 'bout it, Axiom... i think it is a very vague line, what is illegal and what isn't, when it comes to things like this. to supply the name of a website where somebody might find illegal things - is that in itself supplying something illegal? of course not. my remark was more to toddo, who more out-right asked for something that (might-be) considered illegal.

Word You should really try Reason, it's a really cool program to fool around with. The tutorial is a few hundred pages, as is the manual, but it's fairly easy to get used to.

yep i'm planning on it. only problem is that it requires administrator access to install, and i don't know the password for the macintosh that is in the music lab at my school. and it won't let me install it on my external hard-drive (or on any network drive, for that matter). any mac nerds out there know how to fool OSX into thinking that an external drive isn't external? (or how to find out the administrator password to a machine? )

This program is hard as hell to use. Wow. I just downloaded it, looked at it for a while, and failed. Far too many buttons and knobs and shit.

I made a score for one of my movies with fruity loops and acoustica. It's a great program if you learn how to use it.

I've used FruityLoops but my first look at Cubase and Reason scared me away for now... shit looks complicated.

ouch...sorry about breaking the rules. My bad. And you can make some pretty sick beats in fruity loops. I really want to look into reason.
