Thnx for the info HC, will have to try out one of those steamers. Anxious to hear how the fogger turns out....wonder if it comparable to that other humidifier & air xchanger

Agar, that looks like the same fogger I got. Will it be able to take care of a 4 tier Martha?

Yup, in fact - to well.

Use a coolmist (or - coolmist clone) - piped - into your Martha. That provides high RH & great air exchange.

Top shelf the fogger in either a gallon jug, or tray. Then try to find a timer, that you can set like 5 minutes, every hour, or 2 (for the fogger alone).

Fogger pumps out so much moisture, it will drown everything, if you run it TO MUCH. You just have to TWEAK it, to see what works for you.

Hmm...I wonder if I could use it to fog up my room while tripping or rolling....

I bought one of these with cool iron stand and a frosted glass bowl for the water to sit it.  The disc in the middle that makes the fog has a bunch of l.e.d.'s in it..... One of my favorite trippin toys! :stoned:

them foggers work great... I had mine in a paint bucket. I ran a line from my cool mist through the lid into the bucket, and another line out of the bucket into the terrarium. The cool mist ran 24/7 and the fogger ran 30 minutes (shortest setting) once every three hours or so. The air flow from the cool mist pushed the fog from the bucket into the terrarium. Best humidification method I'd ever used.

They can be messy bastards though if you just put them in a container in the terrarium. Don't put any cakes around it because it splashes like a sumbitch. Some models come with a little cover type thing to deflect most of the splashing back down into the pan.

quick hijack question... will the coolmist humidify a martha style setup on its own (properly times and cared for), or is an ultrasonic (fogger or reggy humidifier) required? TIA for a quick response, gettin ready to buy one or 2 as we speak

From what I have read, and heard from all the experienced people on this site, you really need both. Thanks for all your advice and tips on the timer's guy's.

A "Martha" being open on the bottom will not hold high humidity (all that well), so it takes a coolmist..... PLUS an ultrasonic, or fogger head to get the rh REALLY high & to keep it there.

Dead upright freexer (with tight sealing door) with a coolmist piped into it - will maintain about 82 to 86% RH.... and with a fogger inside will go to 98% rh in a heartbeat.

IMHO, if you have the means to move one & have the room, dead upright freezers are the BOMB. They can be had for FREE from applance repair places, are easy to convert / modify, are very SECURE, can be LOCKED & don't look out of place in a spare room or garage.

misinformation. martha's are not open on the bottom.
I have a martha set up to a coolmist AND an ultrasonic by hoses right now.

the problem with a dual humidifier setup is that the coolmist blows a lot harder than the ultrasonic. So, the coolmist builds up pressure and the martha blows up like a balloon almost (i cut a hole on the bottom for pressure escape), and when i turn on the ultrasonic, it works, then flickers, then goes out because the pressure from teh coolmist goes into the ultrasonic's hose.

i can only run the ultrasonic when the coolmist is off.

with JUST the coolmist, i can keep a humidity in the 70's. Naturally, the ultrasonic can get it up to like 99/100

This is a Martha Stewert closet and hose set up.

in the box

I use the ultrasonic and cool mist. Very firm believer in air exchange.

In the exectrical Dept of the hardware store I find these. and on the ultrasonic Now on the back of the closet I cut the holes for the hose fittings and put tape over them and cut holes threw the tape for the fittings. The reason for the tape is to give the clostet plastic a little extra strength when holding the hose weight. The outlet for the ultrasonic goes above the cool mist outlet that way the mist from the ultrasonic drops into the airstream of the cool mist and mixes better.

Well it use to look like this with the pvc

There have been a few changes. Shelves are now chain.

Put two holes in the bottom of the martha a driveway pan to catch runoff and your done
