Looking to buy a house

I'm halfway through undergrad school and work part time. I'm looking to buy a 40-50k house. I know no bank will finance me because I simply don't make $1000 a month. I rent a place right now and have never had any problems making end. I need to know what government programs are out there that may help me buy my first home. Some links and advice would be nice, thanks
