http://www.principiadiscordia.com/book/1.php

Think I just found a new religion, check out the link and let me know what you all think.

Summary:
Pretty much a relgion who's entire foundation is on the lack of a foundation... utterly fuckin' ridiculous.

This is some funny funny stuff! Thanks for sharing it. I relate to the ridiculous of everything very much. Seriousness is nonsense indeed. And how many times have I said I stand on nothing and keep my feet firmly planted in mid air. No foundations for a foundation.............oh yeah!

The Chao instead of the Tao.........hahahahaha what a bunch of wise guys and smart asses!
Freedom for sure!

I read a lot of it, plan to read more because it was so refreshing and delightful. Just what the doctor ordered!

I have to give you your first 5 shroom rating for sharing this funny funny stuff! Who the hell is grey face? I hail to no one!!!!

Here's a small taste of what's in that link for anyone who didn't bother reading it.

Quote:
The
Golden
Secret

NONSENSE AS SALVATION

The human race will begin solving it's problems on the day that it ceases taking itself so seriously.

To that end, POEE proposes the countergame of NONSENSE AS SALVATION. Salvation from an ugly and barbarous existence that is the result of taking order so seriously and so seriously fearing contrary orders and disorder, that GAMES are taken as more important than LIFE; rather than taking LIFE AS THE ART OF PLAYING GAMES.

To this end, we propose that man develop his innate love for disorder, and play with The Goddess Eris. And know that it is a joyful play, and that thereby CAN BE REVOKED THE CURSE OF GREYFACE.

If you can master nonsense as well as you have already learned to master sense, then each will expose the other for what it is: absurdity. From that moment of illumination, a man begins to be free regardless of his surroundings. He becomes free to play order games and change them at will. He becomes free to play disorder games just for the hell of it. He becomes free to play neither or both. And as the master of his own games, he plays without fear, and therefore without frustration, and therefore with good will in his soul and love in his being.

And when men become free then mankind will be free.
May you be free of The Curse of Greyface.
May the Goddess put twinkles in your eyes.
May you have the knowledge of a sage,
and the wisdom of a child. Hail Eris.

How funny you bumped this after a month. I was just thinking about it this morning! :whoa:

I got to serious in the bowing to women post last night. When I do land to take a stand, it is on the issue of bullying. I had just come from watching a very compelling A&E special called Bullied to Death and the show was SERIOUS and I had let myself sink into it. Then came here and saw that post and was all over it. Sorry Tom!

Then this morning, I was like "why did I bother with that post?" I personally don't have a problem with boy talk anywhere. I boy talk often and I am a woman.

However, bad things happen when people get pushed to far like the columbine incident. Doesn't hurt to remind people of what happens when people get pushed to far, someone usually ends up hurt and then they hurt back and it gets ugly, sometimes dead ugly.

Silly human games, the cosmic joke indeed , its all nonsense.

My feet are back in the air today just where I like em :rotfl:

All hail grey face may we see the absurd in it all!

Cue in light hearted music:

Life is but a dream sweet heart, hello hello again, shaboom shaboom!

And there you have the basis of the Church of the Subgenius as well, particularly the "principal" of Bulldadism. That is, the STUPIDER something is, the more IMPORTANT it probably is! Oh yeah, and BTW, the Discordian Church was kinda the mother of the Subgenii sect....

have you ever read the book by kurt vonnegut called "cat's cradle"?

there's a religion in there called bokononism which says "everything in the book of bokonon is a lie including this statement"

--------------------
Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

Hail Eris!

"If organized religion is the opium of the masses, then disorganized religion is the marijuana of the lunatic fringe."

The Illuminatus! Trilogy is one long (700 pages) Discordian trip, I suggest reading it if you have already read the Principia Discordia.
