There's supposedly a giant rotating black hole at the center, rotating pretty fast. That could be caused by the galaxy rotating in the first place, though.

If the universe is an infinite space, doesnt that mean there is no center? Or does the universe all stretch out from one exact point..?

IF the universe is infinite (which i believe it is) that means taht all points are the center. including your pinky toe!

Well the universe is probably a 3D space (+time) warped in 4 dimensions.

Think of the skin of a balloon. It is a 2D space, warped in 3 dimensions. There is no center to the skin of a balloon, but there is a center to a balloon itself

We exist as the 3D skin in a 4D (maybe higher) universe.

The universe is not actually infinite; it is just continuously expanding at a rate faster than we can travel.

I disagree, thats a theory not a fact.

But if the universe is growing too fast for us to observe, then we'll never know if its totally infinite or just growing.

Using microwave background radiation maps ? images of the universe 13.5 billion years ago when it was 200 million years old ? Cornish and his team set out to look for matching patterns, what he called "circles in the sky."

"We didn't know where in the sky these circles were going to be, how big they were going to be, or how they were going to be rotated," Cornish said. "The number of possibilities we had to search for was huge."

How huge? About 10 to the 16th-power huge.

"It's a lot," Cornish said.

On Earth, if a person set out walking east, they would return to where they started. Thus, Cornish explained, if the universe were finite, light should ultimately return to the point from which it started, making it visible from different directions.

But the team found no evidence of this wrapping light, and thus no evidence of a finite universe.

"If the light is wrapping around the universe, it just hasn't wrapped around on a scale less than 78 billion light-years," Cornish said.

Maybe, one could reason, Cornish looked for the light too soon? Just because it hadn't arrived on Monday doesn't mean it couldn't come by Friday.

And with that in mind, why does the Milky Way rotate? Might it be because the entire Universe is rotating?

Newton asked the same question:  Newton's bucket

Rotating relative to what? When does something rotate?

Rotation is an acceleration. Gravity is the benchmark for acceleration according to Einstein(general relativity). Asuming that our universe is in a 'free fall' relative to it's own gravity( ), the universe does not rotate and can not rotate relative to itself, or can it?

The universe can rotate relative to Newtons absolute space: a fixed something that stands in nothing and in which our universe 'floats', a 3D coordinate system. But this definition of space is not the best we have.

 Blowing up the balloon is similar to the expansion of the universe. Make a few black dots on the balloon and blow it up. The distance between the dots will increase while there is no center from where everything expands. If you stand on one dot, you would see all other dots moving away from you, but you would see the same if you stand on any other dot. Every dot is standing still, only SPACE(the 2D surface of the balloon in this example) itself is expanding!

This is of course a 3D way to visualize a 4D(or more) situation we call reality. I would love to visualize this in 4D, but I don't think anyone can.

I lack the English to explain these things clear, sorry  :smirk:

According to Kepler's second law, when a planet moves closer to the sun in its orbit,
it speeds up.
Kepler's third law points out that, among the planets in the solar system, the farther a planet is from the sun, then the:
slower its orbital speed.

well this should help
