no, jackass, in this day and age, people need to be
more critcal in lieu of blindly supportive.

no, we don't know these people, but based strictly
on statistics and the fact that they are both members
of this site...they are likely young 20's which means
they have about a 1 in 3 chance of staying married
through their lifetimes.

nobody should be getting married before they've
finished school and started their career...30 is a good
age...and please spare me your 'not everyone is the
same' arguments.

if anything, a little prodding might help her ask herself
some serious questions about what she's going to do
with the other SEVENTY YEARS OF HER LIFE.

I don't love sounding like a dick and hearing my own voice. I want to stress how stupid getting married just because you fell in love is. You people better be sure. With divorce rates what they are, all marriage is bad news, until proven otherwise.

I've known him for over five years now, and we've been dating for over three. It is totally our choice, and we have both thought long and hard before making any rash decisions. We both have our college degrees and have real jobs. I have made my choice, and that is that I want to make him happy for the rest of his life. I don't believe in divorce either.

The interview went well, and I will know in three weeks if I get to take their drug test and move to Hawaii! If not, there is another position open in Hawaii and two here that I qualify for. I'll go where ever my baby will be the most happy :smile:

Just so you know... here's a little about us....

We did not meet on the Shroomery. I've been a member here for many years... well before I met a gr8fulchick, actually. We met in the marching band at the same university... we both played trombone. I first met her my sophomore year (her freshman year) and we didn't exactly hit it off. She had heard all these rumors floating around the band how I was a druggie and a drinker and a player of marching band babes. She tried to talk to me one day during practice, but I could do little more than giggle at her cuz I was pretty much high all the time that year of school :-) That freaked her out and she pretty much avoided me for a while. I really don't remember having a "high" conversation with her... but I was probably high...

We went on a date at the end of that year, and it was all right, but nothing amazing happened. I impressed her buy buying a Guinness for myself while I was udnerage at the restaurant we went to (although i had a fake ID, just in case). The next year she was not in the band so we only saw each other randomly around campus or in the music building where I had one class.

My senior year (her junior) we were in the marching band again. That year we hit it off pretty well and actually started dating. I've been out of school and working for several years, she graduated a year ago and our relationship has been building ever since.

It's not like I picked her up in OTD or anything ;-)

I never said I wanted to get married, I was wanting to spend time with a woman that I am copatable with, I highly doubt I will find it here in Utah..I am moving to Washington or Canada first, but hey I am almost in my mid-thirties so I think differently then I used to...

Exactly!, who cares what anyone thinks...I could find a woman and fall in love with her... and change my mind totally the oppisite then i planned on doing..my life has been that way anyway, life isn't always predictable...

m00nshine is currently vacationing in Maui. Rumor has it he got rolled by drunken natives and is currently prostituting himself in order to pay for airfare back to the mainland but he's having trouble juggling a hairon addiction. He won't be back for a long while.
