Anybody here from the Boulder/Denver area?

I was thinking of moving there. I do not like working for people and I think I would prefer to open my business. Can you think of anything that would "fly" out there? Is there a market that is not being tapped? Is there some economic want that is not being met in the area?

I lived in Boulder for 3 or 4 years, now I live in Westminster which is just north of Denver. Boulder is a pretty expensive place to live although not as bad as a place like NYC or Boston. It has a lot of college kids, yuppies, bicyclists and hippies. You could probably do okay with a business catering to the stoner population, like junk food delivery hehe. Or beer delivery for the frat kids. Or target the yuppies with I dunno like car detailing or dog walking or something. Or just do what most Boulderites do and deal drugs (hehe j/k).

Denver is like most cities, you can find shitty places there that are cheap and nice places that are expensive. I don't go there much for pleasure, it has its share of attractions I guess but it just feels like a "generic" city to me. Dunno what kind of business would fly there, probably anything that would work in Philly, Seattle, Detroit, etc.

Overall I like Colorado... it has the most sunny days anually of any state, no bugs in the summer, most of the people are pretty cool and there's still a lot of open space if you're into that sort of thing. If you have any other questions let me know.

i'm from Denver, but i have no business ideas. I love it here and would recomend the move. My bf just moved here in May and hes loving it. I'll try to think of something and get back to you if i do.

I live in Denver as well. Its pretty nice. Weather is awesome, considering its March and it hasn't snowed in close to two months, and by snow I mean snow that stays around and doesn't melt right away. The only drawback is that right now, pretty much everywhere you look is under construction. The city is putting in a huge light-rail system and its just a mess. It will be nice in a few years though.

About the business part, I'm not sure, I'm doing research on it myself right now, since I'm looking at starting one as well.
