Penalty for Spores?

Ok I am well aware that spores are illegal in california and a few other areas but I have no idea what the penalty is. I have searched and searched and searched and have not been able to find any info on this. Does anyone know what the penalty is in california for possession of the spores? Is it the same as possessing mushrooms? Is it a lesser crime? I really have no idea what the deal is. Karen

I may be wrong here, but I believe the issue is more about possible agricultural contamination than Psilocybe spores per se. California is extremely paranoid about letting ANY outside plant materials into the state, be it fruit, roses, spores, whatever. All the vendors of garden seeds, edible mushroom spores & cultures, shrubs, etc. state in their catalogs that they cannot ship to California. So, "importing" spores into the state might be a violation but I doubt if merely possessing sporeprints would be a problem. Any serious amateur mycologist undoubtedly has a large collection of prints from locally gathered species; it's doubtful that police agencies have either the time or the expertise to identify them. ("Hey Sarge! This chick has 600 sporeprints in a notebook. Let's send 'em all to the UC mycology lab & pay to put 'em under the electron microscope & grow 'em out in culture. Maybe some of 'em are Psilocybes." Yeah--right.) Of course, sporeprints found in conjunction with an up & running illegal growing operation COULD be considered additional evidence, but that would be a classic case of "why even bother?"

California has got to be the 1 state with the worst mushroom laws.. They have thought of everything from spores to the final product incleuding analougs, tinictures and concentrations of anything that falls within the proscess of use, distribution and manufacturing. to see for yourself check out the , California Health and Safety Codes: 11390, 11391, 11392 and the subtitles of those laws. to answer your question in the state of California the punishment for conviction of a first time offense is (and these are all possible and maximum). 1) Los of drivers license, even if a vehicle wasnt used in the offense. 2)Posession: 0-1 years and $20,000 fine 3) Sale/Manufacture: 2-4 years and $20,000 fine GabbaDj
Ok... Just to set the record straight.... I thought the cop was a prostitute.

Why do the US have such ridiculously high punishments? Here in Norway you would get a fine and maybe six months in prison for selling drugs. Murder is around eleven years. Think about it, a couple of years are a pretty big part of your lifespan. The US sentences seem quite exaggerated. I mean the US is like up there together with China and the fucking Taleban regime in Afganistan when it comes to silly punishments. "Woho! I get out in 1432 years!"

Ironically, Las Vegas gambling was started by organized crime. I'd imagine the inbred cowboy fucks that help govern that city hate weed because there's no money in it for them. Just imagine a hotel casino with a drug buffet. All you can smoke or eat. Just a minute, sir. We'll have a fresh bins of Northern Lights and P. Azurescens out in a moment.
