Screen with a glass bowl?

I just got a new glass bowl and I'm about to try it out... I was wondering if I need to use a screen for it though...

You don't need a screen, but some ash may suck through. I recomend getting a glass screen, there cool as hell.

post some pics of the piece. lots of pieces have certain features that prevents most ash getting through to your mouth, such as bubbles and bends. even if you use a screen you can still get ash in your mouth. honestly i've never found it necessary to use a screen in a glass piece.

It's got a small bubble on the end, but nothing too crazy.  I used it and it was fine.  Now I'm  :crazy2:

I'll look into a glass screen though, because i swallowed a bit more ash than I wanted to.

Once you get used to smoking out of glass you'll know when the bowl is done. So with experience you'll know when to stop smoking as to not get "shit on" as I like to call it when you inhale ash.

i think when i add a screen it seems to taste diffrent(ive yet to try the glass screen) which defeats the purpose for me using glass, because all i want to taste is my dankins.

Yeah, metal screens do make it taste kinda nasty. I've never heard of a glass screen though, I'll have to look into it.

The art of proper pipe usage takes some time, and it also takes some time to "get to know" a piece, but it is perfectly possible to smoke out of many pieces all the way to the end without getting shit on, if you have the proper art and finesse.

It can be more difficult with a spoon, for obvious reasons, so get yourself a sherlock, hammer, or sidecar for that extra bend between you and the ash :smile:

Yeah I always use a screen in my glassware too, never thought it made it taste any different. Plus using a screen keeps your piece clean of ash.

I've recently been using a brass screen with my bubbler and have had no problem with increased harshness. My local head shop gives little bags of assorted size screens away for free, so it's no problem gettin em.

just gonna regurge what WI_Shroomer_Skater said.  they are EASY to loose!  especially if your already stoned and packing another.  they jsut fall right out :frown:  that is my only complaint with most glass peices.

i personally dont use one.

i dont like using screens in glass bowls, but i dont like sucking ash either. what to do?

forget a screen. dont need that isshh. if youre a seasoned smoker there isnt even the question of getting ash in ur mouth.
