No harm can come from questioning. "Best" case scenerio: You prove it right without relying on the fact that it is widely accepted. Argument strengthened. "Worst" case scenerio: You realize you might have been wrong. The new answer might or might not be what you want to hear, but it beats defending yourself with bullshit.

Fast, Cheap & Out of Control by Errol Morris.

Best. Documentary. Ever.

Does "This is Spinal Tap" count? I know it's a mockumentary, but it's so good.

Other than that, I guess I'd have to say "Bowling for Columbine". (I haven't seen many documentarys)

I just went to amazon.com and read what the movie is suppose to be about. I just have a question, why do you consider this the best documentary ever?

The Blue Planet
The best underwater documentary ever. By the BBC

Trinity and Beyond
A documentary about nuclear tests around the world. The most insanely beautiful, insane and scary sights you will probably see for a while. A lot of the footage was classified untill recently.

Microcosmos
A doc about the cosmos of the bugs

The Corporation
About corparations and their place in the world. You will understand anti-globalists better after seeing this.

The Living Planet
A beautiful BBC wildlife doc in 12 episodes

The World at War
The most extensive doc I know about WWII

Because it's a pretty psychedelic testament to the interconnectedness of all aspects of life. By taking 4 people from completely different walks of life and weaving together images, sounds, narration and music that at first glance seem completely unrelated he shows you how all things inform each other and how the wildly different are very the same.

The story of Shane MacGowan is a sad one. But he made some great music.

a good one is "devil's playground"

its about amish teens. when they reach a certain age, "Ramspringa" (or something like that) begins. they are given a period of time to choose wether they want to become a full member of the amish church, and society. they are allowed to wear regular clothes, and party. they party HARD. crazy. its really interesting to watch. drunk amish chicks, some of em living in trailers on meth, all fucked up. a real interesting watch.

Either Errol Morris' brilliant The Thin Blue Line - the film got a man off death row!

or

Nick Broomfield's Fetishes

with

Sick: The Life and Death of Bob Flannagan, Supermasochist

as reserve.
