who's from the area? what do you guys think? cool city to live? weather? good public transport? just how bad is the cost of living out there? I've heard it is pretty damn high.

I'm looking for a new home.

north bay area/san francisco area is very nice. its a pretty city (i grew up north of it). rates are high, check craigslist.org or something for specifics on rent.
