Hi all, Looking forward to learning with/from the group.

I'm wondering if anyone is using now or has used in the past the kits and tek from www.mushroommagic.com .
I spawned my straw a week ago, and would love to hear some tips, experiences with this method.

you son of a bitch!!!! dont buy from them!!!!! i bought the 10 gallon aquarium set and everything got contaminated. sorry if that seemed like an insult, it really wasnt. maybe that stuff will work if you have some experience but i was an extreme newbie when i bought it and everything got fucked up, even though i followed the instructions. if i bought that same setup now id be able to make it work (by changing some things). so if youre a newbie then wtch out!!!

Thanks I think.
Anyhow 8 days ago I spawned my straw, then almost immediately had a srong sour smell, which turned to ammonia smell, so I removed the plastic sheeting to allow for some drying and mixed all of the straw very well. That was two days ago, tonight I went to check on the humidity, and temp and much to my surprise, my straw is about 90% colonized! The myc. is a beautiful white. I had heard it described as looking a little like shaving cream, but holy shit!!!

This is my first run too. I follow directions exactly and read read read, and a little common sense.

Soon I'm hoping for 9 wonderful sq. ft of cubies!

They come off like their complete system's .minus the detail's i found out o and you should buy this BooKanother wad a cash .got a 20 gal unit an pf syringe an it went to hell bought another one an a refill kit went ta hell again .i followed this forum for a coupla yrs. on some one else's computer then couldnt get access for a while ordered the kit via a magazine .like i said failed twice lost a chunk of money at least for me,finally got my own computer signed on the forum an learned more in one sit than all the info magic gave me.am going in a more origional manner now with pc ya buy one not to expensive at flea markt workin with mmgg style cakes plan to case when time is right .i think magic is a ripoff for the first time er .study here for nothing get the few supplies needed an you are virtually there an you liberate your self from there pricey mixes dont even have ta buy more than one good sprint i got mine offa the FSR an thats itdont BUY FROM MAGIC EVERY THING NEEDED IS RIGHT HERE OR THE FORREST FLOOR .

are you sure its mycelium? the same thing happened to me at first (got a large clump of white fluffy stuff) but then it grew to be about 3 inches tall and then turned orange!!!! i am going to check out that straw thing right now and ill tell you what i think of it.

If you mean that you cant find info on turning the straw, you wont. I got that idea by calling him on the phone. You're right, they dont provide nuch documentation, but hey the info is everywhere. They do provide great phone help.

I didnt opt for the aquarium kit I got the big greenhouse, you should've seen it this evening, beautiful myc everywhere, I wenat ahead and cased it! I'm + that it is myc. and not something else. First time grower but I've been studying this for a while. anyhow I went for the big kit because if youre going to do it, then do it, is my thinking.

btw Can, It is possible things could be going very well on the first shot dont you think? Youre starting to bring me down.

i didnt think anyone would buy that expensive thing. i thought they had some new "magic straw machine" or something like that. i guess the stuff from that company only works if you buy the really expensive stuff. that greenhouse looks awsome (for use without there crap)!!!!! that will help you grow alot in the future. when i called the people they acted surprised that it was working (it really wasnt it was just a mold that was white) i should e-mail them and ask if theyd sell the greenhouse without any of there magic crap. how big is it?

Sorry ta bring ya down ,sure you'll do just fine i was just pointin my perspective on the situation .but i'll stick to the tried and true methods from here on out i got mycellia startin good in three days usin 1/2 pt. jars br. an verm mix think its the way for me good luck to you MEW
