dish hands
    #3538165 - 12/24/04 03:15 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I just started a new job washing dishes. long story short i had my hands in a lot of greasy water for several hours today. they got so soaked and then the skin just peeled or cut real easy. now for some reason my skin feels fucked up like it's tight. although i physically can stretch my hands out it feels like the skin is hella tight. other then regular hand lotion is there anything i can do for them? is there any really good lotion i should get for them? like damn.

During WWII when sailors who had been rescued after floating in the ocean for a day or more, their skin would just fall off their body in gigantic flaps. Gross aye?

You've got trench foot.  Except in your hands.  Yes.  You have trench hand.

I think I see a solution...

Looks like you'll have to dish out less than $2 and get a pair for yourself then. :smirk:

 silly

Get the gloves or just deal with it for a little while. wrestler is right, it will only last a few weeks, then your skin will adjust.
Until then, I suggest using Vaseline Healthy Hand Essentials. That's what I use at work. It works great considering I wash dishes alot at work, I wash my hands alot to make food and I work at the drive through window occasionally and with the weather being a friggin cold as it is, my hands get really dry. So this stuff works real good and it's about 3 bucks at walmart. Haha, I sound like a commercial advertisement.
Good luck with that.

There are two ways to get to the top of an oak tree: start climbing or sit on an acorn.

Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?
