I need help. The Shroomery is the only website that I seem to be able to access. Every time I try to log onto another site, I get an Internet Explorer error.

"This program has preformed and illegal operation and will now be terminated. Anything that you have been working on will be lost." SEND ERROR REPORT DO NOT SEND

But for some reason, I can still come here no problem. I don't know what the fuck is going on. So I called Dell and they told me to get Ad Aware and do a scan. I had been using Spy bot, but apparently Spy Bot misses A LOT.

So now I have Ad-Aware and I can run a full system scan and then I check off all the little boxes and put everything into quarantine, but I don't know if I am doing this entirely properly.

Does anyone else also have any other suggestions as to what my problem might be? I love the Shroomery, but I need my freedom too, you know? I have other things that need getting too!

I deleted the cookies, I defraged and I tried to run Ad-Aware even if I didn't do it entirely properly.

What next??

Reinstall to factor default and patch to the latest patch level before connecting to the internet.

Just another spore in the wind.

... or Firefox
About anti spyware try spysweeper along with ad-aware. Besides the ability to scan and destroy spyware (like ad-aware does), spysweeper has a monitoring mechanism which is always running in the background, and it prevents your PC from getting infected when you visit a malicious page or try to install dubious software. Ad-aware and spybot don't have this kind of shield.

if spybot & adware & your anti-virus do nothing, I recommend starting all over. backup your personal files & application installers. reformat/reinstall windows. once you've done that, do a windows update and then go to www.mozilla.org and download firefox. Stop using IE and you'll most likely avoid these problems.

reformatting/reinstalling isnt so bad.
