Garlic Spread

Basic Ingredients:
5 lb. tub margarine (preferably Gregg?s Gold~N~Soft)
Garlic powder
Granulated garlic (fine)
Pizza seasoning (dry)
Poppy seeds
Seasoning salt (preferably Johnny?s)

All these ingredients may be purchased in bulk, at modest cost from stores like WinCo.

Allow margarine to set out at room temperature, until soft. Then ~ place the tub in a microwave & heat it for 1:30 seconds to 2 minutes to further decrease viscosity. Hint: you want it as soft as you can get it ~ without it turning to oil.

Scoop ~ pour margarine into a large mixing bowl. Depending on how much you like garlic! Blend in from ? to ? cup each of garlic powder & granulated garlic, one heaping tablespoon of poppy seeds & a dash of seasoning salt. Blend it all together by hand until homogeneous. Then ~ VERY GENTLY fold in ? to ? cup of Pizza seasoning. Hint: Pizza seasoning can bleed a green color into the mixture, so blend it in last & do so gently.

Allow mixture to set out at room temperature overnight. The purpose being to allow the dry ingredients to hydrate, soften & assimilate flavor into the margarine (also  ~so ~ they are not dry & crunchy). Once done, store in appropriate containers & refrigerate.

Variations: add a dash of fine granulated onion (dry), dry chopped chives, dash of course black pepper, pimento, dry mild ground red chili pepper  ~ or anything else that suits your taste.

The mixture is forgiving & no wizardry is involved. You just have to give it a try & find the appropriate measurements that suit your tastes.  For instance ~ if you get a batch to strong ~ simply blend in more (soft) margarine ~ to mellow it out.
