Deer burgers.
    #3427261 - 11/30/04 10:00 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

This is the first time I've made deer burgers. I went a half and half route with venison and some really fatty hamburger. Without the fat in the hamburger these fuckers would have been dryer than a popcorn fart.

First of all get yourself a real meat grinder. This peice of shit you see in the photo made me want to throw it through the fucking window. So take note and get a real meat grinder.

Here is some burger on top and venison below and a peice of shit meat grinder on the right.

Grind up your venison.

Incorperate the ground venison with your hamburger and patty'em up, throw em on a hot grill, cook until done, throw in a bun with cheese and douse with ketchup and eat.

Great idea! Im going to get a better grinder, maybe one of those electric ones on ebay.

Those were some lean ass burgers and making chili, joes, etc would be awesome too.

I can spot the problems with your grinder already..

Theirs three real parts to a grinder.. One is the auger, the next is the blade and last is the plate...

The Auger spins the blace and pushes the meat towards the plate.. If the plate is not TIGHT against the blade, then the blade dont do its job properly...

Two possible problems here.. Most likely you didnt tie down the coupling ring tight enough to push the plate against the blade. Or two and not likely is that the blade is chiped or severly dull..

When the plate and blade arent in the right position, it looks like the meat is just pushed through the holes.. When in the right position the blade cuts it through the holes and makes what we call ground beef.. Or deer in this case..

I also forgot to add that I didn't really add any salt, pepper or anything for that matter to these. They turned out "ok".

Next time Im going to add onion soup mix, but only half a packet. A whole packet is just too over powering.

Snappers are crazy bastards. I remember trapping one when I was young, if my memory serves me right I can remember that fucker hissing and going nuts.

I heard they make a good bowl of soup. Never had it though.
