 Filter on ciggy

Hey, I have one of those tobacco rollers and I get tubes and they roll real nice joints. I have been ripping the filters off, I was just wondering what the filter would do to the pot? Would it filter out any THC or anything like that? I was thinking of pulling out the flter and slipping in a roach or something, but it be cool to keep the filter on. Alot easier to carry around with you, just keep em en the ciggy pack.

I had a joint with a filter on and the flavour was intensified loads! I don't know if it affects how high or stoned or you get though.

I have no idea if I am right or not, but here is what I think- I think the filter would be better for smoking a joint because, 1) it obviously would filter out plant matter or thicker smoke that comes from vaporizing the plant and not the THC, so your hits are more concentrated in THC, and 2) it acts as extra space for the smoke to cool before you inhale it, making it easier to take bigger hits.
Just my thoughts, could be way off though.

I've heard it really loweres the amount of THC you get, but I don't know for sure.

I used to smoke a lot of joints rolled just like that. The amount of THC that is lost is very small. So small in fact, I could only say that because it just seems logical. Not because I didn't get high enough.

Locigally, that's why they're on a cigarette, to filter out carginogens and make the smoke not as harsh. But like everyone else that's just my opinion.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm trying it out tomorrow night and I'll let you guys know how she works!! I think i'll cut the filter in half.. see how that works. or maybe pull it out and put in a roach? hows that sound?

I read that filters filter out a lot of the thc, but i also read that bongs do. I don't remember where i read this study, but it was scientific, not just a some stoner. The thing is you get higher off of bongs, because you can take huge hits, maybe the same is true for filters.

a filter on a joint is retarded. you ARE filtering out thc. how small amount is relative to what small means to you. I personally want every bit of thc I can get out of the weed I buy. smoke bubblers if you want cooler,filtered bigger hits. I personally use a vaporizer more than anything. You can get the most thc % from your weed from a vap.

I smoked two joints from a cig filter i forgot why...but i felt as high as usual but I just stick to my old roll up a lil piece of cardboard for the filter

Just some food for thought.
I have taken gooey pipe-tar/resin and spread it over the cigarette paper like butter. The effects gained from smoking the tar this way were the same as would be smoking the same amount out of a pipe. It was very fulfilling.
It is commmon knowledge pipe tar contains little THC content at all, and the filter on a cigarette did not take away from the buzz at all.
I have never smoked a joint with a filter, however seeing that my above experiment went over great with small THC content, I assume it would work fine. I am sure shitty Mexican Brick has more THC content then resin, and would be ok with a filter.
As someone stated above, the filter filter's out carcinogen's. You still get your nicotine correct? Why not THC? (I have no scientific proof to back up any of this, just real-life experiences)

The filter on the ciggy/joint makes the amount of THC substantially less.This is confirmed by a very elaborate test conducted by Norml & Maps. The test also concludes that a bong has *less* efficient thc delivery than a joint with a roach.(by that they mean thc versus tar(harmful crap) ratio).

I've got extensive experience with filters on joints.
Filters do filter out THC. Filters are best if you cut them off with sharp scissors or a knife so that about 1/3 of it's length remains (1/4 to 1/2) then you get the optimum high/filtering ratio. It's best suited for not too strong weed (like grown outside instead of hydro) with nothing or leaves added.
Smoking is a health hazard but if you look at the color of that filter you will see that cannabis smoke is very much tarrier then tobacco and that you did your lungs a favor.
With the lightbulb DMT/Crack pipe used as a vaporizer there is no excuse for smoking cannabis as you can so easily DIY one for yourself.
An alternate design for a $ 0.50 DIY vaporizer is opening a clear lightbulb at the socket end by means of heat and a poker, toss some weedcrumbs in and stick in a glass/paper/metal straw. Heat the bottom of the bulb with a lighter and suck in the vapor (not smoke) through the straw with air being sucked into the bulb around the straw and the vapor being sucked into it.
I must stress it is best to put the weedcrumbs into milk, heat that and drink it crumbs and all ("Bhang") like they do in India for 100s of years. Weed is for 6-12 hour oral highs, not quick lung fixes.

wiccan they dont heat the milk in bhang...I am in India and can vouch for that. They grind the weed using a stone grinder for a long ass time and mix it into milk adding 'rose syrup' or 'Khus - Khus'(Green colored sugary syrup made from non - psychoactive seeds).The end product is known as 'Thundai' as is usually enjoyed chilled.
