Worm Holes
    #3395415 - 11/22/04 09:55 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

So why did they decided to call them worm holes?

Why not

Snake holes?

Anyway

What is the story behind wormholes? I could read up but, lets talk

What it is, is what it is my Brother.
It is as it is, so suffer thru it.

im not an expert but from what i understand, its basically a black hole that tears a hole into the "fabric" of time/space and when you enter it, you are theoretically thrown to a differnt "location" but really its a differnt time and location.

imagine space and time as a big blanket suspended in mid air by the edges. objects in time and space are resting on top of the blanket, like earth, earth would be maybe a golf ball size, and the sun would be maybe a basket ball size. the golf ball wants to roll towards the bball because its bigger and heavier, the attraction is called gravity, im sure u know that... now, a black hole is essentially a really really really really really heavy grain of sand, if u put it on the blanket it would rip a hole through it, and assuming that space and time is continuous, the fabric is essentially a mobious(one sided geometric object... a donut is an example) so this grain of sand is sooo fucking heavy it attracts everything remotely close to it directly to its center, in the very very very small point that is the center it connects to whatever is "below" it. so if we were to travel through these worm holes (another name is einstein-rosen bridge, i think) then you would fall into the one spot, and you would have to escape through the other side, so its essentially going through the black hole and shooting out the other side away from it....

im gonna stop here i cant explain the picture of what i see in my head.... ask a question ill try to clarify more........

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
