I'm looking to buy an asian 2 door car and the main reason is for gas economy. I was looking at Mazda MX-3's, MX-6's, Honda del sol's, CRX's. What is the best 2 door? Who owns one?

i've been in the market for another car too. and i think i'm gonna go check out this guy's mitsubishi eclipse this weekend. they get around 30mpg..i think if they didn't get such good mileage, i wouldn't even have considered it.

actually, nevermind..they aren't really asian. and from what i hear, they aren't super reliable either. i guess it depends if you beat the hell out of them.
on the same subject, my uncle has had a geo metro for about 8 years and that gets really good MPG. he's drove it cross country twice and it still runs strong.

Hondas( the one I owned) get NICE gas mileage, and run great/are reliable.... This thing had 212,000 miles and is still going strong( the guy I sold it to gave me an update)

I have an Infiniti G35 sport coupe and I love it. It's not the greatest for gas mileage but damn if it isn't a fine ride.

a g35 is definitely not in the same category as economy cars like Mazda MX-3's, MX-6's, Honda del sol's, and CRX's.
yarry shroomer, i hear you canadians are fucked on insurance. in america, insurance is completely affordable. i have a DUI and speeding ticket and it's still affordable..

a g35 is totally out of my price range. i have 2600 at most, so my options are somewhat limited.

as far as a cheap good running car, i have a saturn coupe. my borther also had one that only died at 233,000 miles because pepboys replpaced the transmission wrong, mine currently has 150,000 miles on it and is running nicely, the clutch has never needed to be replaced even after my 80k miles of driving it, and ddespite my crashing it numerous times, it has never needed engine work. although it did ned some body work, but with those dent resistant plastic panels it works out pretty well.
i have driven it straight through to california and back, to florida 3times 2 time to canada and many other places inbetween. not the most comfortable back seat though, but they are cheap. i got mine for $1500 with 87k on it and it was a 95

you should check out www.cars.com
more specifically - http://www.cars.com/go/search/advanced_search.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&aff=national
plug in your price range and browse through all that come up. it should give you a good idea of what you can afford. you can also plug in your general area, but if you leave it blank or choose 'anywhere' more selections will come up for you to browse through.

If you want a Japanese car go for a Honda or a Toyota. Im partial to Honda's since I own an Acura. Either company produces great motors and you should'nt have a problem pulling 150k + miles as long as you perform the required maintenance.

Ya, I was also looking at Integras, but they usually tend to be a grand or 2 out of my price range  owell, I think I will find what I'm looking for eventually......oh yeah, felix, thanks for the link!

i had a 90 civic hatch and i took care of that thing like it was my daughter, put a lot of money into it ect. and the whore started burning oil at 100k and i took it on a 6hr drive and it completly fucked the engine at about 115k. ended up selling just the frame to my buddy. oh it got like 30mpg. so i picked up a 94 Subaru justy, she gets 40mpg cost me $475 (compared to $2600 for the honda) and i don't take care of this car at all, i haven't even washed or vacuumed it since i got it but she's reliable as hell. never had 1 problem with her. i drive about 400 miles a week with her too and she reads 103k on the OD but the guy i got it from set it back and like a dumbass forgot to take off the "next oil change due" sticker which read 113K so i think she's about 116k now and purrs o so pertty. she's not a real looker though-

ahh the G35.. skyline in japan. im so jealous. that and the 350z but they are a little out of most price ranges
i would suggest an RSX or integra. the 05 RSX-S gets 210 hp and they changed some things like the suspension and headlights and tailights.
also, the Scion TC came out recently. im sure you've seen the comercials. its made by toyota, gets 160 hp and is fairly cheap.
