I dont know if you can call it a recipie... there's only 1 ingredient... vermiculite.... oh ... and maybe some perilite on the bottom ... but that's only if my monkeys are  casing straight cakes... and no perilite if it's a dung based substrate...

but if your looking for a recipie on "HOW TO" case this is what my monkeys do....

When working with cakes these steps are taken:

1. fully colonized cake is crumbled inside of new ziploc bag

2. a thin layer of perilite is layed on the bottom or the container and moistened w/ mister

3. the crumbled substrate is dumped into casing container

4. the substrate is pressed down , as best as you can, to a level hight (usualy 3-6")...this is usualy done with the inside of the just used ziploc bag

5. grab a handful of dry verm and cover everything white or any pieces of cake that are sticking out

6. this layer is misted again so it is moist

7. place lid ontop of container and return a week later

8. proceed as usual with casings

9. also remember that when working with casings clenliness is next to godliness:)

peace
