Yeah I prefer cream. I use menthol shaving cream. Very refreshing.

What brand of shaving gel have you used? I use Gillette and I love it. Maybe you can try another brand.

I just directly apply shaving gel to my face and let it lather, rather than rubbing my hands together. I thought that's the way it was supposed to be done?
I'm just using some cheap adidas stuff I got for christmas, got tons of it so atleast I don't have to spend money on it! Seems to work decent too.

Schick 3 + aloe Barbasol cream or regular Gillette cream = Yes
The gels, along with the mach 3, are highly overated imo.

For some reason a lot of stuff sold round here doesnt have any english text on it, the instructions, descripition and igredients and stuff will be in every language BUT the local one. Anyway i decided to get gillete shaving gel(never used gel before) which also wasnt in english(why did i bring that up even?!) an i thought it was better than the standard gillete foamy stuff. The gels easier to control i think.

i have that same one and it works damn good. just as good as a regular razor, if not better because of convenience. i don't use the little packets of squirt lotion anymore though, i either use it with regular cream or with nothing right when i get out of the shower. works damn good for me..

Geez man! Do I have to teach you how to shave now?
I only ever use gel unless there's nothing else around. Here's the kind I use, keeps my skin nice:
I use about this much:
The trick, I've found, to getting the gel into a nice foamy lather is to pat it rapidly with your fingertips, then just swirl it around in your palm. When patting, don't actually make contact with your palm, and the same goes when swirling. The idea is to get the gel moving against ITSELF, not your hands moving together. Be gentle.
If all goes according to plan, you should have a nice lather free of gel clumps within 30 seconds:
And so we come to the end of trendal's instructional photo set on "How To Use Gel Properly". Stay tuned next week, when I will be showing you how to get the thread through the eye of a needle while moving at top speeds down the freeway. In a convertible.
