This Psilocybe mexicana casing was grown from a multispore culture on sterilised grass seed. Although mushroom formation was kind of poor sclerotia production was on the same level as Psilocybe tampanensis.
66 grams of wet fresh sclerotia from one casing.
We will be cloning some of the sclerotia to test them for their ability to fruit on grass seed in jars without a casing layer.

Nice sclerotia!
Is it possible to somehow bring the sclerotia to produce fruitbodies?

i heard that tampanensis eg dosent produce any klassic fruitbodys at all?!
anybody knowin pan subbs producin sclerotia, at least it appears to me like if my culture is doin so could also be a kontanimation ive never seen before, looks real strange, they got about the shape of the sclerotia una posted, just much smaller (till now?), its coulored grey-black and dosent seem to disturb the mycelium... hope somebody knows bit more bout whats going on ?
gonna post some pics of that stuff in a week or so

The old tampanensis strain that we were working with produced slcerotia very well but no fertile fruibodies. We are now working with a recently aquired fruitable strain of tampanensis and although the fruitbodies are small they are well developed and show little degenaration. We are hoping to catch some spores from these. Sclerotia formation in the casing soil (from these isolates) exceeds that of the shown mexicana. Makes it an interesting species to cultivate because you will be able to harvest mushrooms as well as sclerotia.
Panaeolus subbalteatus also produces small sclerotia like strucutes but these remain very small (< 1 mm), I have pics of this somewhere..i'll look for them.
