First frost for Libs

#3098920 - 09/06/04 02:16 PM (22 years, 1 month ago)

People around this area say that the best time for liberty caps is after the first frost.

Do they mean the first killing frost, or the first frost of the fall altogether?

They mean the first cold shock of the season.

It usually happens later in the season the closer to the equator you are untill there is no frost in the year at all (tropics).

It's when the windows of car windshields are coverred with a thin layer of nasty ice in the morning. And then plants start really dying.
