An enjoyable morning

I walked out this morning at 3:30 a.m. into the desert near my house to take pictures of the stars and the city. This is one pic I took (one of about 30).

The Las Vegas Strip. 4:30 a.m. Early morning twighlight is just creeping into the sky. The light from the Luxor Hotel is pointing directly at the planet Venus.

Then, as the sun rose I got on my motorcycle and went for a ride. I rode around the other side of the Spring Mountains on the freeway and then took a 4X4 road back over the mountains, through Redrock Canyon, back to Las Vegas.

Here is me at the high point where the road crests the mountains and starts back down. This is also the trailhead to the top of Bridge Mountain. The sign next to me reads:
"North Peak: 1.3 miles, difficult
Bridge Mountain: 2.2 miles, difficult
Red Rock Summit elevation: 6,340 feet"

Then, here is a picture of me after going back down into the valley. This is part of Red Rock Canyon. The mountain on the right is the afore-mentioned Bridge Mountain.

Yes, it was a pleasant morning. :thumbup:
