I'd suggest coco bliss brand. You will never want for any other coir:mushroom2:

While we're on grains... be real with me. Is this millet shit? Cause its seems like shit lol. See attached video.

LCs that should be flying are like I barely put anything at all. Slow and thin. The grains pour readily, it doesn't seem like there's any moisture at all. I cut some in half and while they seem like they're cooked through, they also seem like they're dried through.

Standard 2:1 NSNS hydration ratio.

Could longer PC times do this?

Ras. Can you make some sort of instructional.. on how to add a video like this.

In the past I've wanted to uplaod a video but don't know how and don't know how to do it without revealing my identity. IE a YouTube video or whatever.

Love it.  I recently used some off-brand shit that I just found in my garage. And it was nowhere near as good.

Not to say that random generic brands all suck. But this one definitely did.

Just ordered some more coco Bliss yesterday and said well, that's it.  never using anything else again if I have the choice.

I bought some coir at the hydro store near me for convenience recently. Not only did I get over charged, the stuff wouldn't hold water, the consistency was ass, and I ended up composting it because it wasn't worth the work of wringing it all out to get to field capacity.

Never again

Just put Enigma, P.azure, P.nat, and P.cyan mycelium to brown rice and as long everything is clean, I will have some nice spawn to put to some sub soon. My question is any beginner tips for these varieties? I have been reading that it can be more difficult to grow than others. Ive successfully grown Jedi Mind Fk , B. Meanies , P. Envy with plenty of help from this very thread but I would say - as it was my 1st time it wasn't too difficult. So, what you think have I traveled into deep waters with these new varieties?

Azures' needs are very different than the others. They're a wood loving species and fruit around 10C.

There have only been a handful of growers who have successfully grown them indoors, if you count a handful of fruits as successful.

Most people just make outdoor patches, and there's lots of info on the wood lover thread.

Pans typically use nitrogen fortified substrates. Either pasteurized straw, manure, or with fertilizer.

Lots of info about them here:

https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/29144450#29144450

Ochras Enigmas can be grown like cubes. Nothing special about them.

Nats can be finicky AFAIK, there is a dedicated mega thread for them. I'd check that out

P nats or orcha?  Anyways  are just as easy.    Azures and p.cyan are a different story.

Also there a difference between ps cyan. And pans.

Anyways. those exotics  have specific requirements to fruit them.

The best thing you could do is get comfortable in each species offical thread.  Read research and ask questions.

Fair, I've seen that recommended elsewhere too, but it's £60 for 6 blocks on amazon which seems wild compared to every other brand. I'll keep looking though!

What are some good ways to fruit a culture which I can't clean on agar? I'm certain it will fruit if I don't need to break the colony.

I'm thinking about top fruiting PF and putting it in a grain spawn bag?

It's a GT clone culture that looks like this on agar.

I have this B+ spores which I can't seem to clean up - grows end up triching out. This is the back of a T5 plate. Made a T6, but it also has these lines. Am I presuming correctly that these lines are a sign of contam? The front looks nice though.

And same as this culture the GT one fails on the 30% shake on grain (it doesn't actually fail it colonizes fully but it's not good). I tried putting in a brf puck and then back to agar but still, same issue and grain looks bad after shake so I'm not going to fruit it. But the agar puck has two lovely in vitro fruits (which went albino I think for some reason, that I don't want as the original culture is like this very nice orange/golden fruits, but I will clone it nevertheless), so I know I can get fruits to clone and rescue this culture if I skip breaking up the colony after inoculation ...

Bump. Anybody?

Since your getting fruits, get some tissue from the inside of the stipe

Woops a little fast on the trigger there, my bad. The lines is usually just temperature difference. But if you believe you have a stubborn contamination then pf cakes or pucks and cloning will be good.

Short version is that there's an "add attachment" section that only becomes visible when you preview a post (but the "preview reply" checkbox does not suggest its existence at all lol).

This can be used for pdf, zip folders, anything.

Certain video formats get automatically converted into a player. My original mov did not, so I converted to an mp4 with handbrake. There may be other formats that also work.

It's subject to a 32mb file attach size limit, which can be pretty restricting. IDK if this limit is different based on supporter accounts or not.

I have been using this, it's done me right just multiply brick weight by 3.5 and whatever gram weight your get use that same number in milliliter of water and it comes out perfect

example
brick weight 600gram
600 x 3.5 = 2100

put 2100 milliliters of water to boil when boiled add to bucket let sit overnight

10bricks is 30 dollars on amazon

its called legigo just look up lego coco coir on amazon

yeah, tried a couple of plates by now and all end up the same.

Top fruit PF? I'm not quite sure how this works exactly. Is it a normal pf with an extra layer of verm on top and then add additional coir on top of it or no extra verm on top and add coir when fruiting?

Do you have pictures of the bad grain jars after shaking?

You mean cloning didn't work? And are you certain it's a bad culture? Like I said the rings are probably just from fluctuating temperature.

But yes, with pf cakes I just do the normal dry verm layer, when it's colonized I scrape out the dry verm and add a little hydrated coir and fruit in a little tub with water at the bottom.

But I think brf pucks is better for cleaning a culture since it doesn't take as much time to colonize and can easily be inoculated with a wedge.

I'm up to T6, plates looking clean af except the circles and inoculating grain jars delivers very iffy grains. I've just cloned the in vitro pin but that turned albino and I'm not really after that ... It's a really visually special gt culture, haven't seen one like it, and that's the pheno I'm after ...

Appreciate the pics! I'm thinking is the dry verm really necessary to begin with if we keep it sterile and closed off like we do brf pucks ...
