Just need to wait until we are a bit more tied down. Late 2028 - late 2030 is mostly going to be traveling and it wouldn’t really be appropriate until after then.

you could get a little traveling maltese, my friend lets his roam around big bass shows all the time, she never gets lost or goes too far and is great with planes, etc

No, medium to big dogs only! Small dogs are jerk butts.

I want a shepherd husky mix or something idk.

Also I live mostly in UES NYC rn and people with dogs that live here are the absolute fucking worst.

I typically agree, but my friends maltese changed my mind about their implied character - she's so sweet, never yappy - just cute and friendly and easy to travel with.

If I were to have one of my own I like wolf leaning or shiba inu - but dogs require way too much babysitting for my tastes unless you have a ton of land for them to roam around on so meh. And I really don't like picking up another creatures shit, so cat's it is for me.

I loved living with North. He was a full wolf

Just found out that I qualify to take the RN NCLEX here without needing any refresher courses or clinicals. I'm going to give it a shot, again. It's been 16 years since I graduated, and 2016/17 since I did a 6 week refresher course including clinicals. I have taken that test at least 7-8 times. They will not endorse my LPN due to it being from an ASN/RN degree. Blessing and a curse, LOL! I'm actually excited to try again without going through all that stuff. I'm just going to do free online questions upon questions until the test. It's all I can do to prep really.

The hubby is not keen on me retiring in Feb, I'm working on him though, lol. He and I are from the school of thought that idle time is the devils workshop and all that boomer early 1900's horsefuckery of you always got to keep busy, and so on.

I need him to understand that this has been my main focus and goal to NEVER have to work ever again and just enjoy the golden years relaxing. idgaf if I'm just watching tv 10 hours a day, I don't want to EVER work again when I retire! I've been working since I was 12, on paper/legally 17. 38 years in food/bev, short stints in retail and a plastic plant as a QC guy. I'm done! I'll be 62 in Feb. If I wait until 67 it's only about 150 a week more. I can supplement that with a few days a week doing a day bar job, never open or close, part time, tues-thurs. Shot clinic work as well with my license.

Yep, the best part about having no kids is I can do the bare minimum and still live comfortably. My life goal after having done too much in my twenties is to the bare minimum, and nothing more. You wanna be the President? Good for you. I just wanna be inside with the door locked, thank you very much.

According to my grandfather who worked until the moment of his death.

"The leading cause of death for elderly people is retirement.
When somebody has something they feel they need to do they tend to wake up another day to keep doing it."

My grandfather grew up extremely poor. There is a picture of him standing in front of the family barn, which is literally falling into itself, and he's wearing baggy patched overalls with his hands on the straps and a big grin on his face like he's wearing a silk suit.

He went on to become a dairy farm inspector and retired as soon as he could in his sixties. He spent the next thirty years teaching himself to play any instrument he could get his hands on, he taught himself how to carve and widdle, and he was a part of every community/church organization he could find. Even when he was in his nineties and couldn't drive anymore because of the dementia, he still walked to church everyday (15 minute walk) to shoot the shit with the priest and hang out.

I never even knew he was a dairy inspector until later because I always associated him with instruments or some woodworking project.

I do play drums and I've recently picked up a seq trak thing to try my hand at edm. I won't be bored or too idle. I also grew up in section 8 and a single mom etc. Retiring is the ultimate dream for me. Not having to work to live. Just enjoy life, what's left of it.

Did you end up going to the show JBG?

I've been to see Phish and wasn't impressed at all, but I think the expensive tickets, the huge venue, and all the phish bros grinding on each other and puking and passing out everywhere (2 separate people passed out in front of us at different times, someone died in the bathroom) contributed to it.

The Phish cover bands I've seen have been fucking awesome though

I have an interview lined up for Wednesday! I am sure I will get it, as long as the bus can make it there. I do not have the address yet because it is through a staffing agency, and they will give it to me when I get the instructions for the interview.
