Signed up for Uni again for next year, today. Just finished my last study in May but have been feeling a bit directionless without the structured learning. Environmental Science diploma. Hope it's good.

Why'd they do that?
I got accepted into a career development program in the state parks so I'm living in a park that was a former plantation for the summer. Part of the agreement was that it must continue to run as a farm so I'm living next to the moo cows. Met my roommate the other day. He seems like a cool young fellow.
Been trimming the 200+ year old cedars this week and got trained to drive the tractor.

Shroomery lol. Over the pandemic we spent a lot of time kind tripping and talking on the phone and listening to music and stuff when we both didn't have much to do for one reason or another. Then he moved to a city that's a 5 hr drive from me and it just kind of felt like a natural continuation at that point because Canada and the US are pretty chill about cross border relations, and I have to work remotely in my area of bumfuck nowhere anyway in the states.

Off work today so I slept in a little before hopping on the bike for about 30 miles. Went hard yesterday when I upped the intensity of my kettlebell workout, so this morning I was pretty sore, but it feels good once you warm up and ride a little. Listened to SFIA a little bit and then some bluegrass for the hilly country road portion. I jumped a deer that got tangled in a barbed wire fence when it panicked, but it was able to get free on its own.
Downed my protein smoothie and my slow cooker of ham and pea soup with baby limas is smelling good. Time to get high before I go see an old buddy and try to cheer him up. He finished his last chemo treatment last week so he can't really toke hard like he used to at this time, but hopefully he'll start feeling better soon. He's itching to start weight training again so it'll be fun to lift weights together once his doctor clears him

Here's what I've been busting my ass to do. Didn't actually finish but got to the worst of it.
Also wish I'd taken 1:1 comparison shots but oh well I was just happy to be done with it.
Before

After

I ended up getting some help with moving gravel at the last moment so that's why it looks less well spread. I ain't one to look a gift horse in the mouth. After I did soil restoration and regraded everything it was less of a pain to move things down that trail but it was still a pain. Literally.
I'm gonna spend a couple days recovering instead of vacationing and adventuring.

BES- hope you have a speedy recovery from whatever's going on. Feel free to if you have any questions about anything, neuro rebab is my specialty and I deal with hemiplegia patients (from various ailments) on a daily basis. The brain and body are great at recovering from all sorts of scary stuff
I'm up in Montreal with the wife for the weekend. Had an awesome time. Been stoned and buzzed for most of it, wish I'd brought the 2cb I planned on bringing but the border crossing had me more concerned than I should have been (all they did was say hi and wave me through)
Planning to severely limit my booze soon, like a handful of times a year or less. It does nothing but fuck with anything good I have going on, makes me really anxious and depressed after. Unfocused as hell and my sleep suffers. I'm mostly functional and even now I only drink once a week at most, but I'm wrecked for like 3 days after each time now and I dont bounce back nearly as quickly as I used to. It's going to be a tough one to reel in for me

Had today off, was gonna go downtown for brunch but came back home for a nice brain melting time at home.

It was very productive and a pretty happy time
Coasting back down to normalcy with some belgian ale and ramen on the way from a good restaurant.
edit: obviously I didn't do all that in one sitting about 3.2 grams of mostly the makilla. And one microdose capsule because I get a little excited about lions mane. I have never had such a clear and lucid mushroom trip, couldn't stfu up for most of it because it just made me giddy.

Snagged a pear from this feral cactus growing in between the sidewalk and an air duct and planted it next to my house and it’s taking off

Back in the old days people would hide their valuables in their timberlands. They'd sometimes misplace their belongings in this way and would need little lights to find what they were looking for. Hence, when a dude gets handsy in the theater, they are a little light in the timberlands because you're what they're looking for

Ya know it's goin.. hospital stay was a nighmare and overdrawn.. aside the iv meds.
Not quite ready to announce the finally findings. But home now, stable, just one handed, which might be permanent going off the area of my brain controlling left side coordination is now white matter. My brain looks like a 65 yr olds
Just enthralled to be back in my own turf, no one randomly coming in for vitals, meds, picking up for a test I didn't know was getting. Most of all so happy to be with my loving pets. If anything, they get it
Thank you for asking, dear. Still going to stay impressed by your drastic move- a great one at that. Hope this money thing gets straightened!
And to you know who you are that saw my last post, i will respond back soon its just been hectic but know I'm okay and it always makes me smile to hear from you!

I've accepted that I'm the kinda person that needs to try a bunch of things even if I'm gonna fuck up half of them. I've learned so much, fuck ups or not, met so many great people, and had many wonderful experiences.
I was appreciating how much the eagles have recovered yesterday as I passed a nest and got very close to a beautiful male sitting on a fence post.
I go to another park for canoe and kayak training next week which includes rescue procedures and that'll be interesting...
Next year I'll move to another park and I may or may not do a 3rd year but the idea is to find a permanent position after 2 or 3 years of training. I haven't really thought that far tbh but they're trying to make me think about it. They seem very open to trying to help me get into a federal department if that's what I want. Maybe.
I read you are hanging up the hat on the rail hopping toastman? How are you settling?

thats really cool about the park ranger stuff, my buddy worked for the parks for a long time and said he loved it. I remember for awhile there i was really in to reading the search and rescue reports from park rangers. is it true that if you see stairs randomly out in the woods yall are supposed to avoid em?
Ive been wanting to put my hat up since end of 2019 but life has thrown some real curve balls at all of us these past couple years. it made things a bit more challenging but im finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel fortunately when i really didnt think there was a light and im finally in a situation where I'm able to put my hat up and know that im in control of the hat rack this time. About to be moving into a stable place in montana with close friends and very excited about that. about to fix a truck i got recently that just needs a timing belt replaced. it feels really nice. this year i have 5 years clean off the needle and 3 months off booze. never thought id ever be able to put down booze, or at least for this long. I honestly thought id be dead at this point.
here is a collection of what ive managed to keep photo wise from the past years of the road. Sadly a lot of the people in these photos are dead now (RIP to the fallen homies). theres a lot more photos somewhere out there on a phone laying by the tracks in the middle of nowhere but so many have gotten lost through transfers and i wouldnt always have a phone on the road. in fact for a lot of the time i was on the road i didnt have a phone.
heres the past 8 years in a glimpse:

i wanted to give a shout out to my close friend Ryan Zani Burke who unfortunately had killed himself around this time last year. I know he cant read this but if my shroomery homies could send some energy out into the ethos for him thatd be amazing. he was my ride or die for 7 years. we went through hell and back together. I rarely traveled with anyone else and at a certain point just traveled alone but the only other person i would travel with was Ryan. truly a heart of gold and one of the most insanely intelligent people ive ever met. I really miss him.
i still carry his bandana and ashes with me everywhere and it feels like he is still always traveling with me. ill have incidents happen now that would only happen if ryan was there the moment i went to pick these things up after identifying the body.
[ryan on the right]

RIP to a legend.

We just sorta recently played SNES Mario world like 2 or 3 years ago, my friend bought a SNES with Mario world, and then I bought fzero, played a bit of that but I couldnt get past the purple snow level with the jump you have to make, the cars just dont seem to get enough acceleration for it
Mt friend also bought Mario all stars but I never got a chance to play it before she unhooked her SNES from the tv
