Those bear pics are insane. The little black bears we have in New England don't worry me but I don't ever want to see one of those in person

After I broke my toe camping in the Caribbean I've mostly just been sticking to the local conservation areas, short walks through the woods and ponds. Got a hike planned up in the mountains for October though and going to try to get out a good amount this winter

Sunset over the local pond tonight

Yusss reminds me a bit of the Outer Banks of NC. I used to camp near Kitty Hawk, drive down Hattaras Island, and walk on empty beaches when the weather turned cooler.

Nice pics!

These were taken around the estuaria of the rivers Rhine, Elbe and Maas, NW-Europe. Ecotypes are probably comparable to your side of the pond.

Used to be out in the dunes for weeks on end, but I'm not up to sleeping in the rain and foraging for food and water anymore.

Edit: pic tax North Sea and Mediterranean

Got snowed on a lil bit for the first time this season yesterday. Had the entire river to myself which was pretty rad too.

Hell yeah  we out here

It's a little past peak foliage where I'm at, also been too preoccupied with fish to look for fungi, oops lol. Probably missed the window on the matsutake spot at this point.

Did find a nice trout though!

Still a bit swollen but virtually pain free walking up to 6 miles on pavement :yesnod:. Hokas have been a god send to me

This will be my first time testing it on some rocky trails, but I'll only be doing a couple pretty easy hikes.

Great weekend of short hikes, lakes, rivers, mountains, good food. Found some nice future camping spots... next year I'm really going to be getting out backpacking as much as possible
