I have not said that China is perfect, nor am I here to make that case. No country is perfect. There are things that I appreciate about my country, but I also have an appreciation for the great things China is doing, and you should too.

Regardless, the US has a "free press", sure, but just like everything else, that press has been almost entirely captured by the oligarchic overlords who have an ever increasing stranglehold on all of the levers of power.

Our press is owned almost entirely by... 3 people? All billionaires, and they use that power to go after twitch streamers for saying things the president doesn't like.

Our press doesn't want to spend the money to do real journalism, so instead it functions as a mouthpiece for one faction or the other, in Washington.

One theme you will notice throughout the world, is that the more socialist elements a country has in it's government, the better off it's people are, unless the US implements sanctions against them.
