Cell Study Shows 5-HT2AR Targeting Enhances Cancer Immunity
Research published in Cell shows that targeting peripheral 5-HT2AR enhances antitumor immunity in colorectal cancer.
@XentirMedia

Cell published peer-reviewed research on August 4, 2026, demonstrating that targeting peripheral 5-HT2AR enhances antitumor immunity in colorectal cancer. The study establishes that intervention at peripheral 5-HT2AR receptors strengthens immune-mediated defenses against colorectal tumors.

The research appeared in the journal Cell under the digital object identifier 10.1016/j.cell.2026.07.028. Cell verified the study completed formal peer review prior to its August 4, 2026 release date.

Targeting peripheral 5-HT2AR focuses immune activity against colorectal cancer tissues rather than central nervous system pathways. Cell did not include quantitative figures regarding treatment efficacy rates, sample sizes, or survival timelines in its initial report.

The scientific entry remains registered under DOI 10.1016/j.cell.2026.07.028. Cell did not publish details concerning potential off-target effects, toxicity profiles, or drug interaction risks associated with targeting peripheral 5-HT2AR.

Documentation cataloged by Cell lists the publication under colorectal cancer and antitumor immunity as of August 4, 2026.

We know that LSD can help cure the depression in a patient with a cancer diagnosis. Now there is evidence the LSD can also help cure the cancer itself. Pretty amazing stuff! :eek:

I wouldn't equal "inhibiting cancer progression" with "curing cancer", but I agree this is amazing news.
also if the inhibition comes from targeting 5-HT2AR receptors it should be possible to get similar results with psilocybin/psilocin :mushroom2:
