I worked for the biggest Suzuki dealership in the world when I was 15
Anyhow I became friends with one of the mechanics
He raced short track for Bultaco

He asked me to pit for him and I of course said he’ll yeah
Anyway I jumped on his practice bike, it was a Bultaco Pursang
I made a few laps and he was laughing at me because I was going to slow

He told me don’t worry about the bike and ride it like I rode my Suzuki 400
I hauled ass for several laps getting it sideways in the corners

He freaked out and told me we were going racing on Sunday
We destroyed everybody on the track
About 6 months later my name was in flat track weekly
They had me rated as the 3rd best rider in Texas
The 2 guys that were rated #1 and #2 had never beaten me

I raced until I was 19 until I joined the Navy
After the Navy I worked for Yamaha and Honda
They wanted me to road race but that’s a whole different type of racing and way to dangerous

Currently I have 3 motorcycles
Ones a Yamaha 650 street tracker

My friend got a new prototype Bultaco
It was called the Bull Astro and it was 360cc
We raced in the 250cc class

In the straights he would fly past me
I told him to quit passing everyone so fast in the straights
Anyway he didn’t listen so they pulled the head off his engine and measured the piston

They black balled him and that was it for his racing career
He cheated and got caught
