Minor Chakras
    #29530262 -

Most people have heard of the main chakras that give rise to specific experience within the subtle energy body, but have you ever heard of minor chakras?

I've been working with them as of late and they exist in every joint in the body and even more!

One thing that I've learned and like to share is that every type of energy the major chakras produce can be stored or concentrated in the minor chakras and they can get bigger and more concentrated.

Does anyone else have experience with this?

So there are chakras at every bend of an appendage..?

Like the elbow, or shoulder for example..

The turning point or twisting point..

The digits mobility.. so each part that can bend, has a chakra..

Lets talk about colors..

Green for the elbow..

Blue for the shoulder..

I don't personally experience them as colors. I experience them as sensation, other than the eye chakra's, which if I spin them in the sun they are a golden light that turns to white.

I personally think that the minor chakras are adaptive, rather than a specific experience like the major chakras. But I have seen them being associated with specific cmajor chakras, its just outside of my experience.

The tips of my toes/feet, they seem to join with an elaborate root system (and also with the root chakra, but extending deep beneath and also arching back upwards, like the Celtic tree of life, Crann Bethadh

That's amazing! I've also noticed that the system extends beyond the local body. I was testing if there was minor chakras in the nipples and when I was scanning for them I found that they were outside the body!

Do you know what type of energies are used to infuse them and make them more permanent?

I would imagine that if you have made it that far that you've experienced some unexplainable otherworldly phenomena?

One thing I've experienced is interdimensional "energy leeches", that come to feed off the energy production, I learned to hide the energy in other places so they can't feed on it. I know it sounds crazy, and it might just be me, but I suspect it is the way of things when one progresses to certain energy levels. (That's why I make the disclaimer.)

It might also be that I went at it solo without a proper teacher, that would have prevented such astral/interdimensional beings from bothering me.

In the book "Magus of Java", John Chang also tell about his battle with an orb, which I took to be as an interdimensional being. Pretty much most enlightened masters, even the Buddha and Jesus Christ had encounters with otherworldly beings.

I suppose I try to remember that anything that is Real is a manifestation of the Love of the Creator. Anything that is an illusion cannot actually harm us. A Course In Miracles has helped me in this regard, although I am not yet free from fear, I have to admit.

syncro has brought up similar concerns, about potentially parasitic entities. This could also apply to human beings and re-examining our relationships with others. Strong boundaries can be an expression of love, just as the cells of our body need good working membranes to regulate what comes in and what does not.

Battling with an orb... hmm maybe battling is a way of strengthening our boundaries. The struggle is strengthening, and we can thank our "enemy" for putting up a good fight.

When we get entangled in the drama of others, it can be very instructive in how we find our way out of said drama. I went through this recently with other humans. I don't see why it can't be the case with astral entities, too. Seeing them from different perspectives is always good, though, don't get locked into seeing them just one way, e.g. as "evil". As Paul Selig's guides say, “You can't be the light and hold another in darkness. What you damn, damns you back. What you bless blesses you in return.”

Regarding the nipples, I too have found them to be chakras!

I understand your non-dualistic take, and perhaps some in the darkness are capable of being brought into the light, however one must also consider the very nature of the thing that is being considered.

I don't personally buy that. The imperfections born out of ignorance are detrimental to the perfection that radiates through the humans that are receptive to it.

You wouldn't expect a nocturnal creature to adapt to living in the day, it's nature prevents it.

Have you ever done a parasite cleanse?

The non dualistic take is great if you just want to be ok with whatever situation, but not so much if you want to better your situation. What is being improved upon besides your thoughts about the situation? A different outlook or perspective isn't necessarily conducive to betterment.

If one is a victim of their thoughts, and those ideas make one feel negatively, I would think that rather than changing the perspective, one might practice not feeling negatively more proactively, and replacing the negative energy with positive energy.

Like, you can't both feel love and hate simultaneously, so if one can cultivate love, and give it the power over hate, for example, then one has demonstrated true power over the duality. Rather than succumbing to the whims and woes that the environment would otherwise dictate. Why would you want to see yourself as one with hatred and malice and evil in general?

Because we share a collective soul, of Humanity. Judging myself as morally superior to another is a dangerous road to take, that results in “shadow projection” where I disown my own unevolved parts and then see them in distorted form in others.

Compassion is a different view, that allows us to see the roots of suffering and so called “evil.” But again, this doesn’t mean that we don’t have good boundaries and let malicious people exploit us. Maybe you are equating a non-dual perspective with a lack of discernment?

How does one replace negativity with positivity? I’m on board as long as it does not involve projection. Negativity could be transmuted, sometime arduously, but other times it can quickly be dissolved or “poofed” out of existence by virtue of good insight.

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying about betterment, which often involves effort. But the discussion started with the premise of how to deal with outside entities. Let me put it this way. You can have good boundaries with a snake so as to not let it bite you and poison you. But that doesn’t mean you have to judge the snake as evil and feel superior to it. It is a natural part of the ecosystem, as are parasites.

Also regarding parasites and our bodies - I really like harmalas. Was taking them daily for a while, now more sporadically. Feels like a deep intestinal cleanse and a powerful purifier of the overall energy field. There’s lot of research into their anti-parasite effects, too

Might find nadis of inrest

Yogic texts commonly state there are 72,000 nadis (subtle energy channels) in the human body, though some texts, such as the Shiva Samhita, mention as many as 350,000. These channels, which carry prana (life force), stem from three fundamental, primary channels—the Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna.

Nice map! I've seen it written that the nadis create minor chakras where they overlap! It looks like it has some of the minor chakras mapped as well, but from my experience there are also minor chakras in all the finger and toe joints, the ears, eyes and temples too!

Another thing that I have experienced for example, is that the knees and elbows have 2 each, one in the front and one in the back. I'm starting to think they can actually be made anywhere where one can focus and concentrates root energy.

I understand the view on non duality. for example the idea of a collective consciousness that all beings share a piece of. I think the Upanishads does a pretty good job and telling that tale with the Brahman. And while it all may be true, a slice of the pie is never the entirety of the pie, and the totality of a collective consciousness would be inconceivable. I consider most of the non dual enlightenment teachers as frauds. I think what non-duality was intended to point at was the collective conscious and the collective love that exists but is inconceivable, rather than someone becoming that totality. I'm not accusing you of such a thing of course, but just going off of prior experiences and generalizations from previous interactions with non-dualists, seemingly creating a misunderstanding. In the idea of becoming one, there would be no subjective experience, yet the entire tirade describes a subjective experience. One might say,  they are trying to relate it in a way that people would understand, but I don't personally think its an actual thing that a subject could experience.

If one considers the sheer magnitude of it, and humans limited sensory apparatuses available to parse sensory input, then what would actually be able to parse sensory inputs for which there is not apparatus to parse it as an experience at all? Like the sonar of bats, while that base consciousness might be there, humans lack the experiential basis for comparison of that specific qualia, that images echolocation in the brain, and provides for the experience.

There is evil, and it's not something I care to be a part of or consider myself as a part of. I would be happy to exclude it from the Brahman entirely. Evil beings might be a part of the Brahman, but they lack the love and compassion that would be required to be a part of the All, which would also include the totality of Love. That's why I think the dualistic Gnosticism is closer to the truth, because it creates a well defined line between the Aeons and the Archons, defining the positive energy that belong to the Pleroma from the negative energies of the material world. Just because we all share in consciousness, doesn't mean that all who share in consciousness are "one", imo.

I think this is where our views diverge. I don't consider it as something to think or a perspective to achieve, but an internal "doing", instead of feeling angry, channel love energy to replace it, Or transmute it to inner fire, which is less emotional and more usable.

No no, I was also suggesting that an arduous "doing" is sometimes necessary for the transmutation to take place. While also leaving room for those sudden shifts that dissolve things, too. I've been through some quite arduous processes, very painful, in order to move through transformational states. And of course we are all born into physical form through an arduous process of leaving the womb!

So do beings fit neatly into categories of good and evil? I don't get the sense that you believe that to be true for humans. I get the sense that you see yourself as a mixture of energies.

I hear what you are saying about concepts of non-duality being used in exploitative ways. That Buddhafields cult, for example, the leader is a prime example. Maybe Osho, too. Their practice are misrepresentations of the spirit of non-duality, however, because their words and actions do not match. Furthermore, non-duality need not conflict with an evolutionary path of an individual soul. We can all be One while also each be evolving and creating in our own, unique way. That is the paradox.

How would one do that if one were preoccupied with thoughts of having been a victim of a separate, evil entity? Wouldn't that lead to desire for revenge, and of accumulating power to try and enact such revenge? Or to banish the evil entity into the wilderness, which could then lead to fear that the evil entity will gather more power in the darkness, and itself come back to seek revenge upon us?

Some of it could just be ignorance of the divine, and some of it, which is actively working against the divine, would be categorically evil. It comes down to the very nature of the being and the intent.

There are various realms of thought in that regard.

I think most humans that do evil do so in ignorance, and while often influenced by powers of evil, lack the necessary gnosis to discern the light from the dark. So while humans aren't inherently evil, the prison guards are, as are the ones actively and intentionally working against enlightenment or gnosis.

Escaping "Samsara" is a pretty common theme among major religions. Whether it be going to heaven, Moksha, Nirvana, Gnosis, Fana, etc.. The is some technical discrepancies among the various versions but the goal is pretty much the same, realization and escape. So where is one escaping from and too if not from the material into the spiritual duality?

I'm not sure how one derives "revenge" from escaping from the prison, accumulation of spiritual power would be used to achieve the goal, and while that power might be used in a manner that could be of detriment to the enemies of enlightenment to increase odds of escaping, it's the escaping that is the goal.

Daoism is somewhat different, in their mysticism it's more about creating an immortal spirit, which would also break the cycle of rebirth, but escaping the material duality doesn't seem to necessarily be the final goal. The material world is dualistic by nature, the ontological oneness is rarely (if ever) within the material duality, imo. It exists elsewhere.

So you are not one for the idea of bodhisattvas voluntarily entering the hell realms to liberate the tortured souls, demons, and hungry ghosts there, are you?

Although you do talk about transforming anger into love... compassion for all beings?

What are the origins of the archons? I wonder what motivates them... especially if they ultimately derive from the same Source as the aeons.

Auto-Summary
This post explores the intersection of Gnostic cosmology and psychological development, drawing parallels between ancient mythological concepts and modern therapeutic insights. The author compares the Gnostic Pleroma and Archons to familial dynamics, suggesting that understanding these symbolic figures can offer valuable perspectives on personal growth and spiritual ascent. By examining Gnostic traditions alongside Western magical and psychological frameworks, the post highlights the importance of navigating complex systems—whether spiritual, psychological, or cultural—to achieve balance and self-awareness. It argues that while challenges (represented by Archons) may seem adversarial, they can be transformed into opportunities for growth, echoing the alchemical idea of transmutation. The piece ultimately suggests that embracing both integrative and adversarial approaches can lead to a more holistic understanding of human development and the pursuit of enlightenment.

Gnostic Musings – Part 3, When Archons become Aeons…

In part 2 of this series I was experiencing serious flashbacks to part of my day job as a family psychotherapist. In seeking to grapple with the dynamics at play within Gnostic cosmology it didn’t feel that dissimilar to the issues that arise in the therapy room. In one corner we have the Pleroma as the somewhat distant father figure, seemingly critical of his wayward son’s attempts in the other corner, to make his way in the multiverse (“Dad you just don’t understand! I just want to create and make stuff happen!”). In the middle of this conflict we have a somewhat care-worn Sophia trying to mediate between these two. It’s not easy being caught in the middle between numinous perfection you respect and a wayward but creative rebel you don’t want to lose.

Is there really only one way to find out…?

Like most families however, drawing in the perspectives of the wider system can bring new and interesting insights that provide balance and richness to stories that can easily get swamped with focusing on difficulty (a “problem saturated narrative”). In the case of Gnostic mythology, I was wondering whether the Aeons and Archons might help.

As intimated at the beginning of this series, Gnostic cosmologies are notoriously complicated and for much of the time it’s hard enough to know what’s going on, let alone what it might signify!  At the risk of over-simplification, Aeons tend to be viewed as extensions or hypostases of the Pleroma (and generally therefore viewed as the good guys) while the Archons are seen as having their origin from the realm of the Demiurge and connected to the “challenges” associated with the material realm. In some Gnostic schemas, those of us awakened to the divine spark within (the “Pneumatic”) must ascend through a number of layers or hierarchies associated with the Archons in order to reunite with the Pleroma. The methods employed on such a journey are manifold – magical passwords may be sought in order to level-up, and groups such as the Sethians seemed to have a complex system of baptisms used for opening up these realms.

For those of us with any connection to the wider Western magical tradition this will hopefully feel like familiar territory. With its heady reliance on Neo-Platonism, the Qabalistic tree of life and various systems of yogic psycho-physiology (Chakras any one?) most “Western” magicians will probably have a fairly ingrained sense that they should be either ascending or descending to something. While the use of such maps may be prone to the danger of getting stuck in taking either them or ourselves too seriously, they can provide helpful tools in seeking to avoid premature maturation.

While we could expend much energy debating whether enlightenment is a gradual or immediate experience of a non-dual nature, I’ll cut to the chase and let you know that it’s probably both 🙂 We may have glimpses of Samadhi or angelic epiphanies, but human nature usually dictates that we want to explore and “unpack” the significance of what such experiences might mean and how we should then live. This idea of a gradual unfolding also permeates psychological models such as Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” and Erik Erikson’s “Stages of Psychosocial Development” as they grapple with the challenges we often need to meet in being alive.  Developmental research such as that done by Paul Gilbert (cf. The Compassionate Mind) also point towards the reality that our need to examine such complexity from a multiplicity of angles, is innately connected to the evolution of the human brain as it has sought to understand and prioritise the competing needs of human existence.

Our engagement with these different stages can take either an adversarial or integrative approach, depending on our chosen worldview. The archonic model can be helpful in that it provides us with a means for understanding the pervasive influence of “the spirits of the age” in perpetuating the dominant discourses of the cultures we are situated within. The Gnostics were often keen to resist these forces in that they were viewed as compounding the Demiurge’s imprisonment of human consciousness. Via the adoption of anarcho-magical strategies (including both asceticism and antinomianism) the Gnostic explorer actively sought to limit the impact of these forces so as to realise their true pneumatic nature.

Rulers can be useful
Rulers can be useful conceptual devices

While such an approach may be understandable from a more dualistic perspective, we may want to question its wisdom in relation to our psychological well-being.  If we view these challenges as being largely archonic and problematic, while a combative approach may provide an initial burst of anger fuelled resistance, we may rightly wonder about the sustainability of engaging in such conflict.

In this series of posts we have already touched on the way in which radical dualism was incorporated as one voice within the Corpus Hermeticum, and for myself  it is within the broader Hermetic and Western alchemical traditions that we find a potent synthesis of the integrative and adversarial positions.  Via the process of seeking to transform lead into gold, the practitioner works with resistance at both a macro and microcosmic level so as to bring change. Magicians are often those who choose to walk the treacherous path of transmuting those substances which others seek to avoid. The initiate’s vows of “Daring, Willing, Knowing and keeping Silent” challenge them to confront those obstacles within themselves formed by either genetic make-up or environmental conditioning. Arguably part of the ‘Great Work’ that we pursue in daring to “immanentize the eschaton” is the transformation of our Archons in order to make them Aeonic opportunities of becoming.
