Best way to simulate the taste of cubes?

I'm trying to dial in a recipe but I'm not trying to constantly microdose so I'm looking for a filler that hits the same notes. Shiitake with cocoa powder maybe?

Psilocybe fresh tastes nice. Never had cubes but I don't see why they wouldn't taste like subs.

I reckon culinary mushrooms cooked well tastes like them

I can confirm fresh cubes taste very similar to fresh subs.

There’s a massive amount of different (and much better) flavours available in many other herbs and spices, vegetables and fruits, and other edible mushroom varieties. Fixating on the taste of psilocybes seems like a strange fetish.

But I would say the closest mushroom ive tasted would be oyster mushrooms I think. Although they’re not as bitter. But you could achieve the slight bitterness possibly by adding some kale, Brussel sprouts, or fresh grapefruit to the mix with the oyster mushrooms.

Maybe even cooking them in with some nuts would be good too.

I could imagine a dish using fried oyster mushrooms in butter, with some stir fried kale and Brussel sprouts tossed in the mix, and then some lightly toasted pine nuts and a drizzle of kecap manis soy sauce. Fkn making my mouth water

Wtf are you talking about.

To hide the taste you don’t need to replicate it. You just need to hide it.

Sweet cancels bitter. Start there and test things yourself as to your desired flavours. Not that hard

Oh... "Simulating the taste" sounds rather excessive, why not try different things each time you do shrooms instead?

I always go for peach tea with cubes but I add quite a lot of fresh lemon juice and a lot of sugar as well. The sweetness and acidity completely removes the horrible part of the taste imo and I don't even sift the ground up mushrooms out - I drink the mushroom mass with the liquids and it's not very noticeable at all unless it's poorly ground up.

Or just make tea and sift it - add lemon juice and you're all set.

I know how to replicate the taste. First you'll want to simulate and create vomit onto a tray, then you'll want to dehydrate that vomit so you can add it to a drink later

To make the taste take raw peanuts, freeze them and blender them.  After that add mint cream alcohol in 30% volume.  Dehydrated the product.

Now to masking the taste you use strawberry ice cream. Or make a smoothie of cubes dry, 2 scoop of egg whites, 1 cup milk and red bull.
Or simple peanut butter and jam sandwich.  Or bake shroom cake out of grinding cubes into mushroom flour.
