A drawing of superheroes, we need Forgetful-Man.

I was arguing back and forth that matter is not matter but force, as shown. And saying yeah right, ...

But is the substantiality of matter other than mind? It is an idea, the fading of which reduces it to an ever thinning shell around the form, nothing but a residue only keeping to see.

Well yes, Forgetful-Man has the power to forget all that he thinks he knows and he thereby dissolves all boundaries to remembrance!

Forget your sadhana... if it is worth its salt, it will return when circumstances call for it. My sadhana is a dragon who comforts me. She is majestic, unending, with ouroboros power to boot!

The ouroboros leads naturally into forgetfulness by virtue of dissolving into the Great Bliss.

Ram Dass talks about spiritual methods... the best ones being the ones that self-destruct just in time to release one to the Infinite

Do you have a license for that dragon? This is irregular.. :nerd:

Here's a balance. "Yet see the mighty works that He will do through you, and you must be convinced you did them through Him."

I think when it's said we are not to trust ourselves that it can be taken as a threat to our ways of remembrance, but that's not the intent.

Ram Dass is contradicting himself because we are talking about the name of Ram. But we all know what we mean. :yesnod:

See I'm being defensive again lol. This was not Ram Dass' intent either. This is all spinvis' fault.

I. The Two Uses of Time

1. Can you imagine what it means to have no cares, no worries, no anxieties, but merely to be perfectly calm and quiet all the time? ²Yet that is what time is for; to learn just that and nothing more. ³God’s Teacher cannot be satisfied with His teaching until it constitutes all your learning. ⁴He has not fulfilled His teaching function until you have become such a consistent learner that you learn only of Him. ⁵When this has happened, you will no longer need a teacher or time in which to learn.

2. One source of perceived discouragement from which you may suffer is your belief that this takes time, and that the results of the Holy Spirit’s teaching are far in the future. ²This is not so. ³For the Holy Spirit uses time in His Own way, and is not bound by it. ⁴Time is His friend in teaching. ⁵It does not waste Him, as it does you. ⁶And all the waste that time seems to bring with it is due but to your identification with the ego, which uses time to support its belief in destruction. ⁷The ego, like the Holy Spirit, uses time to convince you of the inevitability of the goal and end of teaching. ⁸To the ego the goal is death, which _is_ its end. ⁹But to the Holy Spirit the goal is life, which _has_ no end. So time in remembrance I take, takes no time, effects immediate with cause, recalling what is eternal and has never been diminished. A problem with method is we think we have to make that which is, which is what the ego does. But ways are of inner power, lila, healing, affirming and enjoying our higher nature.

If we say that ways of remembrance are obstacles, then so are art and good deed. Why did the Bodhisattva give a mantra? This is divine weaponry, beautification, blessing.

They say good deed needs to be dropped to see, but good deed, upliftment, is its fruit. We don't think of good deed in deep meditation perhaps, but it's a wonderful deed.

We could say that mantra assists with this aspect: “He has not fulfilled His teaching function until you have become such a consistent learner that you learn only of Him.” Because, the mantra reminds us that All is One, there is no escaping the divine presence, it follows us everywhere everyplace

I like to accumulate methods - like you say, divine weaponry! Spiritual materialism has its upsides!

Although because of my nature, I tend to think of them as medicines rather than weapons. Maybe I am being too gentle, I could probably use a spear or two to thrust my way through illusory bullshit

There is mad love in creation for remembrance, large influences that join by oath. Put yourself in that position, the state of opportunity to add to the answer for those who call. ACIM says that we already have done so in beginningless time. So to reset values.

It's interesting that we don't have to earn anything, but karma is a marketplace. What was it, admonishment as karma mercantile lowlifes. Yet means are for those, clever burglars. Funny like a kid thinking he's a burglar while the parent is offering.

A thought on the passage was to plea not to give up on the western mind because our heritage is also in that timelessness, and akin to a people that have been enslaved, with a true ember of hope within that cannot be put out.

A yogi who came to the west said he was shown many faces here that he knew, or should find and help. Teachers and open students are everywhere, even if they are not aware. Something shows them a light, and they will look. It is in life itself, the call.

The proud will be humbled. This is not a threat, but a gift. Pride turns to appreciation... which is truer empowerment. Pride is defensiveness (attack) which rises out of dukkha, to me, self-feeding loop.

Honesty is everywhere, but our presumption of attack is guarded, dumbing down, mistaking our brother. We are actors on a stage, pretending to be something we are not.

I'm impressed by young working people, their characters reflecting the timeless, even if they bicker on the surface. So do the birds. What teachers are the young squirrels in my yard, in lila.

1. To heal is the only kind of thinking in this world that resembles the Thought of God, and because of the elements they share, can transfer easily to it. ²When a brother perceives himself as sick, he is perceiving himself as not whole, and therefore in need. ³If you, too, see him this way, you are seeing him as if he were absent from the Kingdom or separated from it, thus making the Kingdom itself obscure to both of you. ⁴Sickness and separation are not of God, but the Kingdom is. ⁵If you obscure the Kingdom, you are perceiving what is not of God.

2. To heal, then, is to correct perception in your brother and yourself by sharing the Holy Spirit with him. ²This places you both within the Kingdom, and restores its wholeness in your mind. ³This reflects creation, because it unifies by increasing and integrates by extending. ⁴What you project or extend is real for you. ⁵This is an immutable law of the mind in this world as well as in the Kingdom. ⁶However, the content is different in this world, because the thoughts it governs are very different from the Thoughts in the Kingdom. ⁷Laws must be adapted to circumstances if they are to maintain order. ⁸The outstanding characteristic of the laws of mind as they operate in this world is that by obeying them, and I assure you that you must obey them, you can arrive at diametrically opposed results. ⁹This is because the laws have been adapted to the circumstances of this world, in which diametrically opposed outcomes seem possible because you can respond to two conflicting voices.
