I’d put the lid on, turn it upside down and tap it on the counter. It should pop off the bottom. Pull it out with kitchen tongs. Fully colonized pucks can take a bit of abuse.

I have had the SAB set up for two days now but I have been too damn tired/short of time to do what I need to do! I have some more germ plates to do as well as some A2G, and I want to expand some "stable" cultures I've had laying in my plate tub. I keep my wrapped plates in a small tub. I need to mess with some more cloning attempts, too. Gotta get that skill dialed in. Time is fleeting. I still need time to eat after work and smoke my pipe. Throw beekeeping research in there and I'm all out of time. My confession for this moment.

It's too big to get out of the jar. That's the conundrum.

I plan on casing and top fruiting it. Then I'll just have to figure out how to get the mushrooms out of it LOL

Tree Frog suggested maybe try floating it.

Hey gil. I just wanted to say one thing. Try not to overload yourself with too many things to the point it feels like a job instead of a hobby.

I know you're short on time.and love to learn EVERTHING. Lol I can definitely dig that. But in the long run. you've got plenty of time to learn this stuff. Don't Focus so much on learning every skill in the hobby as quick as possible.

Instead take your time learning each one and doing it the right way. With a little practice/patience

That's kind of the way I go about it. And it's really helped a lot when it comes to being motivated to getting more work done in the very little amount of time I actually have to do so.

I like to spend one week.  Well One week's worth of work.  obviously I don't get the time to work on it everyday. But you know what I mean.

Anyways yeah i spend a week learning and practicing one skill and then if I feel comfortable enough I'll move on to another.

Each week try to improve on something. anything.

I like to try to improve on something I didn't do as well the week before. And when I'm comfortable doing that i move on spending  every week trying to improve on something new I haven't already done before.

Doesn't really matter what it is just try to improve. Before you know it you'll be doing this shit with ease and without even having to think about it.

Its a  Japanese concept. Called "kaizen"

"Kaizen is a Japanese concept and business philosophy for "continuous improvement" (or "change for the better") that involves small, incremental changes to processes, systems, and culture to achieve significant, long-term benefits. The philosophy emphasizes the involvement of all employees, from management to frontline workers, in identifying and implementing improvements to eliminate waste, increase efficiency, and enhance quality over time."

Now of course we all have our own way of doing things and thats cool too.

I just figured I'd let you know some things that help my self get through it.
:sunny:

Ps.  I literally got that from the video somebody posted to share with beef about getting help with his YouTube videos LOL. It really resonated with me.  didn't realize I actually implemented it everyday already.

Thanks for both your concern and the advice, buddy.

I understand your method and reasoning. I'm a little different in what flips my switches, tho. In all of the hobbies I have taken on in my life, I have always done well with the learning curve by carpet bombing my brain. I learn & pick up things very fast so I have to keep the momentum. If I take a break, it feels more like work to try to get back in the swing of it. That's where hobbies go to die in my brain.

If I keep at it like I have been, it's still fun, and I'll retain what I'm learning through constant repetition. Agar is my main focus now. I need to be a little bit better before I will have confidence in my ability. Still a bit shaky but I'm much better than I was 3-4 weeks ago.

Gotcha.  Well keep up the good work then. If you notice your getting worn out. Take breaks to let your mind relax a little bit and then dive back in.

I used to be a lot more like you in that aspect. When it came to this hobby tho I had to slow down a little bit. It started not working out for me because I was trying too many different things all at the same time and didn't have enough time to devote it to learn each one properly.

To each thier own tho.

As long as it doesn't feel like work im  golden.

If you use a good browser, just set your location to another state (CA always works) and get at 'it!

Ah, I assumed all the back-asswards states with these laws were the same. Here, xvideos is blocked as well.

When the only connection available is via satellite, you require a satellite connection. The benefit of starlink is that it's a streamline plug and play system which has a mobile unit option for vehicles. You can have internet connection  pretty much anywhere you have a power supply in North America.
