The comparison was a video of Pete Hegseth and a Fox News anchor openly, laughing their asses off to a point where they could not communicate with each other anymore.

There shouldn't be any debate about whether or not somebody's laughing at an assassination or not. My example is a direct video of republicans laughing at an assassination attempt.

Republicans have claimed that Democrats are celebrating this assassination.

If that is true, show me evidence of it.

I agree that pinpointing when speech becomes stochastic terrorism is very difficult and probably a bit dodgy regarding free speech.  That said, words have consequences, much more so when you have a giant megaphone.  When one shouts from the mountaintops things such as children's gun deaths being a prudent deal for a second amendment and what not, I would think one would accept the possibility of dying by the sword, since they professed to live by it.
