That sounds suspiciously similar to Chinese noblemen using backwoods clergy to convince countryside peasants to want nothing, so that the upper class can appropriate everything.

I was raised partially by a Zen Buddhist who used similar tactics, so that kind of brainwashing doesn't work on me anymore.

this had me rolling, awesome

I thought also the younger you are, if there is slightest intention to evolve or realize peace over time. Or it's like a bell curve.

prejudice is a product and function of the ego that bifurcates perception into duality.. (self vs other) everyone is prejudiced.. most would save their own mother over a strangers mother.. add the quantum time variable and we add data to the self fulfilling prophecy..

i think the only solution is to loose all attachment to personal history and identity and to be continually reborn in the present moment.. easier said than done.. but thats just theory..

whats important is to take effortless action unimpeded by lust of result.. but action like that can only be contemplated, understood and undertaken via time, experience and pain. which naturally increases prejudice.. what fucks us up is being attached to that description instead of being free of it but still using it accordingly. to be in the world but not of it i think is paramount.. but then again.. how do we get there when its so hard to even be aware of ourselves.. it looks like struggle is the only way

is it subjective or is it blatantly obvious?

the ego is literally the architecture that draws the line of separation between self and other, between man and nature or man and God.

If this is true... which i believe to be the case.. then "prejudice" would be a product of that doing. The logic of "prejudice" requires a self vs other duality or dichotomy to even exist or function. there cant be any prejudice if there is no concept of "other".

The current trend that people are adopting many identity labels (and crave to label others with identity labels), fuels misery and societal disintegration.  It seems like a sickness to me.

i agree.. and the trend/meme is a product of the ego matrix mind that the consciousness of man is trapped in which seeks manipulation of the "known" via syntax .. once a psychonaut journeys into the the unknown and the abstract those descriptions no longer hold value.. lol but hey try to say that to someone that has never tripped hard before... XD

It takes more effort to forgive than it does to forget. Time will eventually lead to forgetfulness. Forgiving takes brainpower.

So to forgive someone is to potentially allow them back into your life. Which could mean to forget a prejudice you had because of the way the treated you.

To forget doesn't allow you to process the trauma, and it also usually requires time which can exacerbate negative outlooks as you have more time to dwell.

It's definitely easy to get cynical with age. Although I personally am far less cynical than I was as a 20 year old. But again, that's with a great amount of effort in learning to value other people for who they are, and learning to forgive

Premise: of it is my karma to be spoken to brashly then we might say that nothing happens if it is not the will of the Father.

That is the basis, I guess, for rejoicing, and forgiving your enemy because that debt is paid.

what if forgiving and forgetting is just a function of our self importance produced by our ego identities.. if we can dethrone our self importance and detach ourselves from our personal histories then we become fluid and move around all obstacles instead of running into them.. we then over take the walls instead of trying to knock them down.

I agree that forgiving and forgetting is wrapped up in the ego. I don't know if a way to get around the ego in social life. There are ways to become less egotistical, through faith for instance (putting your life into someone else's hands gives you more ability to just allow things to happen to you and not get stuck on the effects). Killing the ego temporarily via Psychedelics works too, but you cannot function in the social world this way.

So I agree with you, but I'm not sure of a way to actually do so. Do you have any suggestions?

I think it just comes down to whether you ever received any education on psychology, internal bias, etc. And how much empathy you have.

The most prejudiced people I know lived relatively easy, privileged lives.

Angry ignorant people will always try to justify their own prejudice, rationalize it. Angry enlightened people, who have been through shit, can be just as bitter and cynical, but understand how the world really works and how stupid it is to blame it on groups of people.

It doesn't help that right now there is literally an internationally coordinated "divide and conquer" psyop campaign being waged on Americans through the internet and other media meant to divide us along, ethnic, racial, religious, class, and partisan lines.
