Any show from 68 through 77 and you'll not be disappointed in Jerry's playing!

During that time period he was ON every night!

Very true. If I had to pick the better musician I would pick Jerry hands down just becuae I absolutaly love his guitar playing and voice. I shouldn't compare them though. They complimented each other perfectly and along with the rest of the boys joined together to create something beyond something that could be pinned to any one person.

Duane Allman played as a session musician w/Tina Turner,Linda Ronstadt and a shitload of other big names before he died
I read a lot about him in Rolling Stone and he really got around a lot in a short time...

Yes, very hard to compare the two, it just always amazes me that they actually came together WITH Robert Hunter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll second that. They never reached that level agian. They would have magical shows all the way to the end, especially Jerry Band. But as far as consistancy 68-78 was pure gold 95% of the time.

I cant stand Roger Waters but he was really good w/Gilmour/Floyd

As far as Guitarist go Jerry n Gilmour were really the best of that era because of all the shows they did and because of the purist genius level they were on

Yes it's more then a coincedence if you ask me. It's like the sky opened up and aligned everything. If you think about Kesey and the Pranksters, Owsley, and the band all coming together it sends chills down my spine.
